up to date GF info for WDW

I am going back to the world for the first time in a few years and a bit unsure how much has changed with dining and allergies.

I have two questions. Will they still email you a QS GF menu in advance?

Does anyone know where they currently have fresh Mickey Waffles (this is one must for my trip ).

The allergy mickey waffles are :
1) at resort quick service
2)at table service and buffets at resorts
3)at Tusker House
4)I have seen both yes and no responses to them at Crystal Palace and Hollywood and vine.
They are NOT at in-park quick service, and are not at CRT or Be our Guest. I don't think I've ever heard of them being at Akershus. So in short, go to a resort if you want waffles that aren't the Van's toaster waffles.

They will still email you that online list of products, but it's incredibly outdated and is really only a fraction of the information you want anyways. You may be happy to know that there are now allergy menus at (I believe all) locations that will have a GF section to them. GF is popular enough you should be able to eat anywhere you want, with maybe a couple snack cart exceptions.

Thank you! I have one resort breakfast on my last day and was hoping to get the Mickey Waffles there (Cape May Cafe) but was debating scheduling another breakfast to get them since its the rare Mickey shaped item I can get. I have had them at 1900 Park Fare and Kona Cafe (they told me they get them from Ohana as they have the waffle iron and batter over there) in the past. I remember the food court at moderate's typically had Vans only but since I booked less than 60 days out I can't get into most buffets/ character meals, and also am somewhat trying avoid buffets, I having a hard time figuring out where to get them.

Are the QS menus actual printed ones now and not binders? I used those in DL last fall which made it much easier. I hate having to check once there, I had a few times during peak times they refused to let me look until I got to the register. I don't like doing that as they sometimes only have frozen food options (Amy's Mac & Cheese, Pizza, or chicken fingers). If I had a way of checking now I would have a much better idea of where to go and when. I think I will look at the regular menus for QS and take an educated guess at what they will be modifying. Sunshine Seasons is a favorite as they have hearty GF meals and they are made that way. Nothing worse than when I get there to find out they can only offer baked fries as a side and its going to take 20-30 minutes.... might as well do TS if a meal is going to take over an hour start to finish.

Be sure to talk to the chefs when you go to eat and they can assist you.

They did make printed allergy menus (GF is in with the allergy menus). It's basically one or two large laminated sheets for you to reference. It will have an item listed then it will say which allergies it is safe for.
In my experience they still don't let you look until you get up there. With the new menu you may not need to speak to a chef if you make sure the cashier puts it in correctly. That is why they made the menus for people with only one or two common restrictions. This lets the chef/manager focus on making the safe food rather than talking about the safe food.

Thank you, makes perfect sense. At DL believe it or not we never had a wait at QS, I just remember on my last trip to WDW we were in AK and lines were long everywhere. We didn't want to get in line until we knew what I could eat but they told us we had to wait like everyone else and wouldn't show us the menu (ignoring the fact that everyone else can read the giant menu board while in line). I will try to eat off peak so I don't waste time in line.
