Let me post some more before going to bed. A bird's eye view of my property:

<IMG width= "300" SRC="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid64/pef0841ab284817abbc3f235513fcae27/fbff8fdd.jpg">Above is the boring northwestern view of front yard. You can see some of my rhododendrums and/or andrometers close to the house and my red maple but not much else.

This next picture is the northeastern view of the front: <IMG width= "300" SRC="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid64/p42a5e1d0de9d58ab65b0cce3b7b29bf8/fbff8fe2.jpg">
The smaller bushes next to the driveway are my wayward forsythias. They are just too too close to the drive. Last year (or was it the year prior?) I hacked out the one that was closest to the street and another one in the middle somewhere. It has helped a bit but it is still a chore to keep these bushes from spreading their branches into the drive area.

The big privet hedge behind the forsythias -- You see where it is real straight next to the sidewalk and as it goes up in height it just sorta goes wild in a massive spread. I try to keep it under control near the sidewalk so we can see cars coming around the curve as we leave our driveway (another reason why I had to remove that first forsythia). That straight part doesn't look it but it has to be about seven or eight feet high. I'm 1/2 inch under 6' and reach up as high as I can to cut the bush back. I would love to have that privet hedge at a more manageable height. They say one can cut it back down severely in March but it is an awful large project for hubby and me.

Some of you may remember the kousa dogwood in the lawn that we planted the other year. It is doing nicely along with the little azaleas surrounding it. The azaleas bloomed prior to picture. Did nothing to that bed this year yet and it shows it. I did seed the lawn from the front corner of the driveway across in front of the kousa because that large area has been getting quite bare in recent years. With all this rain, it is taking but not as nice as I would have liked.

I have four more pictures I was going to post of the backyard - much more interesting than the front IMO but it is after midnight already. This takes a lot of time to do, doesn't it? I will post those photos tomorrow. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed this little peak at my yard and neighborhood.

My goodness, be careful up there Tulirose!!! Roof shots eh? Hmmm....I don't think I'm going to get up on mine! :p

I remember your Dogwood (it looks good!), and your hack/whack attack, on the driveway shrubs! :smooth:

One more thing, I just couldn't resist..lol..:)

Up On the Roof by The Drifters

When this old world starts getting me down
And people are just too much for me to face
I climb way up to the top of the stars
And all my cares just drift right into space
On the roof it's peaceful as can be
And there the world below can't bother me
Let me tell you now
When I come home feeling tired and beat
I go up where the air is fresh and sweet
I get away from the hustling crowds
And all that rat race noise down in the street
On the roof's the only place I know
Where you just have to wish to make it so
Up on the roof
At night the stars put on a show for free
And darling you can share it all with me
I keep-a tellin' you
Right smack dab in the middle of town
I found a Paradise that's trouble-proof
And if this world starts getting you down
There's room enough for two up on the roof
Up on the roof..........

Tuli love the rooftop view of your property. :) I stay off the roof, my one experience with the roof was enough. Had to sit there and wait for someone to come by and hold the ladder so I could get off. No more roof duty for me.
