UP Inspired Wedding Ideas Needed!!

Hello hello Disney Brides!

My best friend is getting married next year at her local zoo (tried for a Disney wedding but couldn't swing it!) and really wants to incorporate UP.

I think it would be a great theme and works well with the zoo (Ellie and Carl both worked there, right? ).

Right now, we just need some ideas. I'm including pictures of the reception venue below. Any ideas for centerpieces?

We already have plans for the mailbox (card holder), an UP inspired cake, and a "My Adventure Book" for a guest book but we're stumped on centerpieces and decor. The reception site is already super busy.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

How about small hot air balloon centerpieces? You could have a small floral arrangement in the basket and then small Mylar balloons coming up from the basket. Not helium, or they would be floating all over the place!

How about balloons tied to dolls houses? I saw a bride recently who bought some cheap wooden ones and painted the houses themselves. A mannequin head with aviator hat? ummm if I think of some more I'll come back

How about mini suitcases? Then putting bunches of balloons around the perimeter if the room. You could do Ellie badges as favors/place cards.

What about... following on with the idea of the the adventure book. What about a little story about an adventure they have been on. Maybe in some really bright flowers? with baloons? I saw another disney bride with a bouquet with glass balls inside... maybe these could be mulit coloured?

I also think balloons incorporated in the table decorations would look amazing.
Alternatively, what about mixed bright coloured gerberas coming out of a vase as a cheaper but still colourful idea. Maybe she could stick the grape soda badges onto the vases.

Or for a shabby chic look,display bright flowers in shiny tin cans with ribbon tied around and the badge on the ribbon.Or have baloons in the cans? Have a look at this link:

I had an idea of having ranunculus:

in wooden birdhouses painted like the UP house with balloons coming up for centerpieces.

If you want to be blantantly UP, balloons are the way to go. But i think to give the centerpieces a little more subtlety, filling clear vases with colored gems and putting peacock feathers in them, to tie in "Kevin", (or something of this sort) would be quirky yet elegant, just like the movie.
Perhaps a fancy balloon centerpiece just for the sweetheart table?

Another way to get pure inspiration is to watch the movie and write down things you really liked about it. Visuals, the script, the music, whatever. That way it'll bring the emotional message of UP even further out during the reception.

Hobby Lobby has lots of great doll houses. You might look from time to time and if you find one you love that is similar to the UP house, you could purchase it with a weekly coupon. You could even paint it to look like the house in the UP movie and use the colors on the house as your wedding "colors".
