I think I am a little obsessed with crowd levels for our trip in Oct...I just checked the crowd levels (again) and they all changed from 5's,6's and 7's to all 4's and 5's. Now don't get me wrong this is great :yay: but I was kinda surprised. Has anyone else seen the levels for their dates change? I guess we will all know if reservations are down for Oct. if Disney comes out with specials and codes. I hope not, I already have my room discount through a CM.:rolleyes1 and I like low crowds. Just kidding, they can come out with discounts but just for fellow DISer's!:goodvibes

I dont think codes make a noticeable impact except the free dining one. Maybe the way dates fall changed this calendar year and they just updated it. I wouldnt be surprised if their initial estimates are just what last years were and then they adjust later. I wouldnt even worry about a crowd calendar at that time of year. It'll be relatively slow and slightly busier on weekends. Canadian thanksgiving may have a sllight impact, I dont think it'd be noticeable either though.

I noticed a change in the some of the crowd levels for our Dec 5-18 trip. On six of the days the levels dropped, on one day it went up and the other days stayed the same. We now have a couple of "3's" during the last part of the trip. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with that level of obsession.

When im October are you going? I hope its the same time as me, id love low crowd levels!!

Our levels changed too. We are going next month, and at first the calendar gave a crowd level of 9 for every day. Now it has dropped to 8. I'll take every little bit!

I believe they posted something on that site about how they were changing the way they calculated crowd levels, so it may just be that.

I had printed off the UG crowd levels for the week that I am going to be there about a month or so ago. I just went back and checked and they went up!!!!:furious: I am going the second week in Aug. Bummer, but what am I to do????

We are going 10/8 -10-/15. These days include Columbus Day weekend. It seems to me that would be a busy time. Not as busy as a major holiday week but busier than most weeks in Oct. and Nov.

Where do you get the crowd level information?

You can also get access to the crowd calendar by buying a copy of the Unofficial Guide to WDW. You go to the touring plans website and by answering a couple of questions (provided in the book) you can get crowd level predictions for up to about 1 year.

I like this guide even though we have been to WDW several times, we don't go every year and it nice to have an updated guide. It is particularly useful for someone who has never been, as many others have posted.

I am also trying TGM this time. It seems to have lots of useful info too. However, some of the info on best days for the various parks conflict with the UOG. Not sure which one to follow. I'll probably end up picking the days that work best for my family.

For those that have been watching, when did the numbers change? And, have they changed more than once?

I've used UG crowd levels and plans for our trips since 2006. They were right on for our first 2 trips, but really wrong for trips in FEB 07 and JAN 08. It was a lot more crowded than UG suggested.

This is great news for me! We are doing a land/sea package so we only get 4 days in the parks so the lower the crowd level the better for us! We will be in the parks 10-12 to 10-15 do you have the crowd levels for that time? If so I woud love if you could post them!
Thanks!

Maybe that change has something to do with Food & Wine fest. Were the levels down in all of the parks, or only certain parks you plan to visit? SOmetimes when Disney releases the info on Food & Wine Fest (like when the "party for the senses" events are and also the concert schedule) it can affect the anticipated crowd levels.
Could also be a reaction to the economy: October is off season when a lot of people (like me) who live within a few hours of Orlando plan short trips or day trips. Maybe they think people will be cutting back? Day trippers might not necessarily affect hotel occupancy.:confused3

Well, it probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to post the actual levels for each day since this is info available only for subcribers to touringplans.com. This seems to be the general rule on these boards. In fact I have probably already said to much. But it does look like they decreased the levels for several days in Oct. which is good news. Of course these are just predictions. I do think though the $7.95 membership to touringplans.com is a good investment.

They don't give the crowd levels for each individual park, just WDW in general. That would be great if they could actually predict a crowd level for each park. However, there is a general best day/ best park chart.

We have been during that week for two years in a row and it is certainly not slow, but not miserably crowded either. Our crowd levels were 6's and 7's and it worked out pretty well. The heat (90's!!! last year) was much worse than the crowds!

We are going in Dec. this year and I noticed that all our days are 3's and 4's now; I think they changed maybe 3 weeks ago, or so? I'm looking forward to comparing the crowds this trip to Oct.
