My kids LOVE the movie Singin' in the Rain. We now have the soundtrack. They like performing the song and dance numbers.

Nothing like a 3yo screaming "Good mornin'" at the top of her lungs! (A song on the CD).

:goodvibes

Any unusual things your kids love or enjoy?

I don't have kids, but 2 of my nieces sound like your kids. When I went to their house last week, they had a little show that they performed for me--including the 3 yr old sitting on the arm of the couch acting out "Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid.

I want to hear your 3 yr old singing "Good Morning". I love that movie & that song most of all! :goodvibes

It's even cuter when they sing "All I do is dream of you, the whole night through....ba doo boop boop". :hyper:

My DD loves the sounds a sneaker makes on a basketball court--you know that squeaky sound.

She loves reptiles as if they were cute and cuddly like a puppy or kitten.

When dd was little, her favorite movie was Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. All the other kids would want to watch cartoons and she'd want to watch that one. :teeth:

Now that she's 15 and in choir, she's been tickled that she already knows the old musicals inside out--her choir put on Guys & Dolls and Oklahoma. She already knew all the songs. :teeth:

My kids love eating in the grocery store! Just kidding!

Not so strange to me, but my 5yo sings ALL the time. Thankfully he sings very well for his age, but he sings when his playing, drawing, shopping (yes, at the grocery store...we could start a thread about whether it bothers other shoppers ;) ). When he's eating he hums, especially if he is enjoying whatever he's eating. My DH gets a bit annoyed at the constant noise, but I don't usually care since the alternative is for him to be yelling and screaming. I do not like it when he does this when we're watching tv, however, and I won't let him watch Survivor "live" with us, but tape it for him. Now we can debate if a kindergartener should be watching Survivor. :teeth:

Oh, and speaking of Survivor, one strange thing that he does is to have his own little Survivor tribal councils. Used to be he would hum the Survivor song and vote off who he wanted voted off from the show. Now, he uses our family and pets and votes various members of our family off. Should I bring him to a professional? :rotfl2: When I "complain" that I'm getting voted off again and that he shouldn't do that to his own mother, he says that he isn't doing it, but that Tigger and Belle and the other animals actually voted me off and that he actually voted for someone else. Smart kid! The other day he voted my DH off, but my husband was ready with his several minute long "parting words". It was too funny!

My ds3 is a Handy Dandy Notebook collector. ;) (Blues Clues)

He insists on getting at least one every weekend. I think he has close to 20 now! lol

I think you've cursed me--I've been singing "Good Morning" since first glancing at your post 30 mins ago. It's one of those songs you could just burst out singing, even though you think you're keeping it under your breath!

Just watched part of that movie last night. I LOVE the thought of your kids singing that. Mine just love the "Make 'em Laugh" sequence!

Well, thanks for getting an upbeat song stuck in my head for the day (my co-workers notwithstanding!) and putting a smile on my face!

My ds10 has had this bizarre fascination with the actor, Jon Voight, ever since he was little when we watched a movie with him in it. He'd walk around the house saying, "I'm Jon Voight. I'm Jon Voight..." Every movie that would come on TV or out in the theatre, he'd always want to know if Jon Voight was in it. :confused3

He's pretty much over it now, but we saw Angelina Joile on TV holding the new baby girl she had just adopted, and I made the mistake of saying, "She's Jon Voight's daughter." For one brief second, I saw ds's eyes light up.

My boy is weird!!! :scared: :teeth:

On our recent trip to DW my DD3 loved the seaweed salad at Japan in Epcot. She ate everybody elses up too, using her chopsticks! The funny thing is, at home I can barely get her to eat anything beyond mac & cheese, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets. I may be shopping for seaweed soon.

Hannah has an unnatural attachment to flip flops and Kenny Chesney.

Emily loves fire trucks. We live close to the fire station and she freaks out and runs to the window every time she hears a siren. I have also never seen a child love meat (any kind) as much as she does. Some meals, that's all she eats.

My son LOVES vegetables. 2 years ago on our DCL cruise, DS's dinner came with a vegetable medly, including lima beans. My son loved the lima beans soooo much he asked for seconds.

Of course, since my and DH HATE lima beans, I don't think he has had them since.

For whatever reason, this cracked me up! I'm giggling and my co-workers must think I'm nuts...I just think it's cute. My fiance and I are so quirky that I have no problem imagining a child of mine doing this! :)

For what it's worth. when I was younger I was obsessed with cemetaries. I used to beg my mother to pull over whenever I saw one...that must have freaked her out!

Sorry... :rotfl2: ;)

And more proof of their fascination with this movie--listening to the soundtrack--they are beginning to state the action that goes with the orchestration. Methinks we watch it a bit much.

I'm with BelleMcNally, this just struck me so funny. Don't you wonder what goes on in their minds? Ever since my 11 year old DD was a baby she has loved balls. I know that most kids love balls but she was obsessed with them. Whenever she got a new one she would sleep with it. Now she's into soccer, futsal, basketball, softball and golf. All sports with balls.

DS6 was enthralled with Dancing with the Stars. He can still recite all the couples' names. His hero was John O'Hurley! We could NOT miss that show this past summer and had to vote on line each week!

DS6 also knows all of West Side Story soundtrack and Fiddler On The Roof. I play them in the car and he's almost always with me. It's pretty funny to hear him request Matchmaker, Matchmaker and sing along with it! He's too cute! He knows all of the songs on both!

He also "does" Alec Trebek and Pat Sajak and will entertain anyone with a dead on game of Jeopardy and/or Wheel.

All of my girls LOVE broccoli.

DD6 loves opera and also loves to watch Iron Chef! I love when she shouts "IRON CHEF!!!" :rotfl:

DD6 & DD4 love The Music Man (original with Shirley Jones). They also love Honey Bunches of Oats & Raisin Bran Crunch cereal while all their friends like the kiddie sugary cereals. They love Garth Brooks and are so cute when they sing along!

DD6 loves to figure out who is doing the voices of animated characters and is very good at it!

My stepdaughter has all ways enjoyed "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"

My Ds also wakes me up by singing good Mornin to me, probably because I wake him up with it!

DD loves Broccoli, lima beans and any other veggie she can get her hands on!
