I keep reading conflicting info online, and the customer service line isn't open yet, so I am hoping someone here will know the answer to my question.

In Mar 2013, we purchased three 5-day MYW with hopper tickets through UT for a trip we planned to take in Oct. We had to cancel our trip at the last minute for medical reasons (surgery). We obviously did not activate the tickets at a turnstile.

I'm familiar with the 14-day rule, but are these unused tickets from 2013 still valid, or do I need to repurchase new tickets? We are hoping to reschedule our trip for Feb 2015. Some sources say a ticket must be used in the same year it was purchased, while others say as long as it wasn't activated, we should be able to use them. I don't see any statement on the tickets other than the 14-day rule.

Thanks for any guidance.

Your ticket are usable and all entitlements are still on them.

Disneyland tickets have to be used by a certain date. Maybe that is where the confusion came from. Have a great trip! Awesome that your tickets are already paid for!

It's important to know that if you are planning to upgrade these tickets for your upcoming trip, you need to use them first to enter a theme park. Reason why is, upon using the tickets, they are bridged to current ticket price. Then when you do an upgrade you are only adding to your tickets at current price. Otherwise, if you didn't use your tickets first, you would pay for the upgrade, plus the difference from what your 2013 ticket was worth and today's ticket with the same features. See the Ticket Sticky at the top of the Theme Parks and Strategies Forum for a more technical explanation.

As long as they have not been used, they are still good but if you really want to make sure before you go, you can send an email to ticket.usage@disneyworld.com. They need a copy of the tickets and a copy of your driver's license. it takes about a week or two for them to tell you.

I had a friend who would go every year and she would buy tickets and not use them. At first I thought she was crazy but with the ticket prices going up and up, I wish I had done that to.

Note that when you first use the ticket, it expires within 14 days of first use unless you have bought non expiration tickets.
