Can anuone tell me if there is still a container at Gatwick airport for old currency (collected for charity).

Also another question which might sound a bit daft - I know that you cannot take crisps fruit etc into the US, but can I take my own Teabags?

any info would be appreciated.

Yes, you can take Teabags. Actually, you can take Crisps too, though they may be a bit funny if the packet has been opened. The main no-no's centre around fresh produce...so no fruit or raw meat (!) (because being fresh, it can introduce diesease to the US theoretically) and they are not too keen on opened/unsealed packages.

When you say old currency do you mean foreign coins? A lot of flights give out charity envelopes to collect unwanted currency.

Good morning Carol

Not coins but some old notes from various countries that on their own are not worth much but if there is a collection point where they can be put it might be of some benefit.

My local Barclays Bank has a big container on its main counter for any foreign coins and notes, saw it there this afternoon and there was a mixture of notes and coins in it. any help to you?

All Thomas Cook's have a box in the foreign exchange to collect old notes and coins for the Children In Need charity.
