Hi,

I can't seem to find answers anywhere... What happens if I purchase 2022 Annual Passes and am unable to use them because we can't make a planned trip for whatever reason? Can the cost of them be applied to 2023 Annual Passes? Or do we just lose the money?

Thanks!

At one time you could buy the AP and the start date of your one year of usage began when you first activated it

I do not know if this is still allowed.
I tried to search to see if a person could buy the ap but not activate it until 2 years later

Hopefully some one can share their experiences with us.
I renew yearly since I got my ap back in 1993.

Even though I can not help you with your question, wanted to post so your question will not fall off of page 1

If you call universal, they will be able to give official current policy

I had a similar concern when I purchased our passes in March, 2021 so I emailed guest services (guestservices@universalorlando.com) and they responded that the passes were not activated until first use, so they could be used anytime thereafter. I saved their response in case I needed it. We activated the passes in October, 2021 without issue.

Interesting. Thanks! I wonder if you would have been able to activate them past 2021 though. I guess I will inquire with Guest Services. I just hate that you sometimes get different answers depending on who you ask. I always keep the email conversations though in case an issue comes up.

When I emailed, I wasn't sure that we'd be able to travel in 2021 at all and I told them so, but they assured me they would be good whenever we activated them. We had taken advantage of a special 15 month annual pass promotion so I purchased them even though I wasn't sure we could make it that year. But I was sure to get their response in writing (and save it) in case I needed it.

I have a somewhat related question. If I bought my passes in order to save money for one massive giant trip, would it be possible to transfer them to someone else afterwards. I was hoping to be able to donate them to charity? I think Universal should say yes because that will keep someone buying related items in the parks... But maybe it's wishful thinking on my part?

Don’t sign you name on the pass when you get it and
If you are planning to gift it away

Makes less complications then

Really? I thought they were using biometrics and It would link my name to my pass... That's great news Macraven! Tks
