To tell you the truth, I'm sure my mom was relieved to have SOMEBODY ELSE explain it to me. I remember driving with my mom alone somewhere (which NEVER happened, I never had my mom to myself) after the class, and she asked if I had any questions. She looked really uncomfortable, so I said no.

I thought for a minute, then asked, "Mom, is it true about how people have ***?" She blushed and said yes.

I thought some more, shook my head and said, "That's really gross. I can't believe people have to do that to have a baby." She blushed some more, then said quietly, "Actually... Ummm, it's kinda fun."

And THAT was our one and only talk on that subject.

same as always...just a checkup to see how my arm is feeling

OK, since you HEART me to death... What are your symptoms now? Horrific pain like your hand has been put through a meatgrinder? Or totally numb so that you can't feel touch, pressure, heat or cold or pain?

ok, i'm back.


Happy news!!

Alison's hubby called, apparently he was told he had to call us FIRST with the news. She's doing well.

He talked to the surgeon and everything went as planned and she's in Recovery.. now she has the next few weeks to get thru. I told him we are all thinking of her and the family and wish them the best.

He was sweet and said "thank you Ma'am for thinking of her" awwww, so polite. And he had to go make his round of phone calls.

I thought it was very sweet-- we were the FIRST!!! See, Alison truly loves all of us.. ok she knew we would all be biting our nails wondering and worrying

Now I can rest at ease.
Time to get my assorted funny cards on their journey to make her laugh.. well not laugh enough to hurt the tummy.. but enough to make her smile

yeah she went to the library and I guess I was lucky my mom told me and even though it was totally weird I have and have always had a really close relationship with tiff and I just wanted to tell her..not someone else...

ok symptoms...my arm swells and sometimes I have shooting pains that go all through my hand and up my arm into the shoulder...I have no strength in them at all...so if I ask one of you guys to open something for me you will know why other times its like a pain that feels like its going through my bones and I wrap a blanket around it to give it heat so it will feel better

And we bought few books, did a little speech to present it to them and let it go at that.

5th grade is still the standard for school based sex ed-- though it peeves me to no end to be restritcted to "just say no" as it hasn't made much of a dent on the number of teens having sex, getting preg, having STD's

I went to a private Christian school. They had all the girls go to the gym basement and forced us to watch a video on abortion. They told us not to have sex. They did not have sex ed and they did not like discussing it.

i went to a private christian school too and they didnt have ANY discussion on the topic...PERIOD!!

We had sex ed in the 6th grade. It was a moot point for me, I had WAY already started my period my then.. and my mom had THE TALK with me then. It was SO embarrassing! Ill probably talk to Mikalah before she starts hers, and it wont be long before i make dh talk to Alex about it.

hmmmm, also to consider.. you will qualify for Vocational rehab
You can get training to get a new career (depending on income it may be even be FREE! free college!!! ) and they will work with an employer for you to have adpatations in place.

AND if you're in a vocational rehab program-- they can't kick ya off Social Security!!!


Can ya tell that we loved vocational rehab?! It made such a huge difference for Eloy, though consdiering how sickly he was today .... I wonder if working part time would be better for him (WAY fluid overloaded and was short of breath, it's a dialysis day.. he will be better tonight. )

Wow. I started when I was like 9. We tend to be early bloomers in my family though. Its just a ton of fun I tell ya.
