ok, i'm back.

Happy news!!:yay:

Alison's hubby called, apparently he was told he had to call us FIRST with the news. She's doing well. :goodvibes

He talked to the surgeon and everything went as planned and she's in Recovery.. now she has the next few weeks to get thru. I told him we are all thinking of her and the family and wish them the best.

He was sweet and said "thank you Ma'am for thinking of her" awwww, so polite. And he had to go make his round of phone calls.

I thought it was very sweet-- we were the FIRST!!! See, Alison truly loves all of us.. ok she knew we would all be biting our nails wondering and worrying ;)

Now I can rest at ease.
Time to get my assorted funny cards on their journey to make her laugh.. well not laugh enough to hurt the tummy.. but enough to make her smile :goodvibes

Finally, some good news today! :goodvibes

Thank you, Bernice, for posting right away. I feel better now.

It's been a bit of a POOPer of a day. There, that was for Alison, I told her I'd mention POOP each day that she was gone. :rotfl:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sorry Lynn, I'm sure things will look up soon.

Thoughts and prayers are with you that they can help your arm.. Please keep us posted.

Did you see we almost mutilated Melody when she said something was wrong with you but took too long to post what it was!

We got your back Lynn! :lmao:

thanks alot everybody..and yes I see you had my back :grouphug: problem is this is going on a year and they've done loads of tests and cant find the problem which is why I am at the point I am at..

Exactly!!! When DH was a supervisor they paid for the phone, but like you they don't for the GM's. But you know if there is a problem the Sup calls him on his cell (not the store phone) as well as all the rest of his managers. And you know they would have a problem if our DH's did not have a cell phone and could be reached 24/7

what would happen if your DH told them he canceled his cell phone service because he was getting too many calls from them and couldnt afford it anymore...but really just change the number and dont give it to them:thumbsup2

How could she be 11 and not know???
We learned about it (and sex) in the 4th grade! And that was back in the Dark Ages, they probably are teaching that in kindergarten these days!

I thank god every day that I was able to tell Tiffany about sex and she was 11...she said people talked about things but she didnt really understand...

The only ride I fear now is Tower of Terror. I rode that one in WDW and freaked out! The ghosts scared me more than the ride! :lmao: I remember moving through the room and it was close to the ghosts. It seemed closer than the one in DCA.

I rode on the one in DCA and freaked out. I cannot stand that little girl singing: "It's raining, it's pouring!" AHHHH!!! :scared1:

:rolleyes2

Yes, cards that are not too funny are definitely in order. :rotfl:

I had a myomectomy in the '90s (uterine surgery, basically had a mini c-section type scar) and I was in a lot of pain. I used to work with one of our neighbors, and he and DH were buddies, so he came over to say hello and see how I was doing.

He and DH got to cracking jokes, and I was trying so hard not to laugh: "Uh uh uh uh!"

And then DH told him one of our family legends, it's probably not that funny without DH acting it out so I won't bore you, but then I almost started to cry! "Uh uh huh huh huh OW! Uh huh huh huh OWEEEEEE please stop!" :rotfl2:

:crazy2: I just opened a package of disney hankerchiefs I won on ebay. It REAKS of cigarette smoke! I couldn't stand it so I threw them into the washing machine. :laundy: I noticed the seller has some poor ratings (all recent) of customers complaining their merchandise stunk of cigarette smoke too!

YEAH ALISON IS DOING WELL!!!

Ummm ignore the happy birthday travis part! :lmao:

Lynn, how was your DR's appt?

Lynnie-bear! Sorry, I had no idea that's what the medical leave was, and I didn't want to pry. I hope they figure it out soon, or do like they did with me and at least go in and take a look to figure it out.

My doc felt bad about my big zigzag scar, but I was thrilled to have the sensation and use of my hand back! Besides, it's a great conversation ice breaker! "OMG, what happened to your arm?!" :lmao:

what would happen if your DH told them he canceled his cell phone service because he was getting too many calls from them and couldnt afford it anymore...but really just change the number and dont give it to them:thumbsup2
Seriously! It's ridiculous that they don't even pay the bill. We did that for awhile, where the company reimbursed DH for his bills, but eventually they realized they could give him a corporate phone and rate that cost less than our plan. :thumbsup2

I thank god every day that I was able to tell Tiffany about sex and she was 11...she said people talked about things but she didnt really understand...
Really?! Wow, I'm surprised the school district doesn't have a sex ed class! We were in California when I attended it (4th grade, 10yo), and that was even late for my DSis, who started her cycle before that.

Here in WA they didn't do it until 5th or 6th grade, I think, and it was old news for me by then. :rotfl:

ok they did have one but I didnt want tiffany going through it until I had a chance to tell her...shes MY child and its my god given right to tell her kwim?

Lynn, how was your DR's appt?

same as always...just a checkup to see how my arm is feeling:headache:

When I was younger, quite a few of my coworkers smoked, so I would sit outside with them at break (so they could smoke.) It gave me a headache, but I stuck it out. Now I really get bad headaches from it and almost gag at that really strong smell of someone who is a heavy smoker.

I've heard from so many ex-smokers that they just don't realize how bad the smell is until they aren't smoking anymore. They lose some of their sense of smell (and taste, too), and they're so surprised when they stop smoking and it comes back.

wow people 31 pages already. At this rate we are going to have to PM Alison our new home yet again!

Lynn, I hope they can figure it out soon. Do they have any more ideas?

urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh

How frustrating for you!!

oh yes, have no fear of suddenly being kicked off SSDI, the wheels of the govt go very sllllllllllllllllowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwlllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

And even then, you have to have $XXX amt of steady employment to be considered inelgible and free of disability.

It's not the whim of a person, it's a HUGE stack of papers and bureacratic weirdness to get in and OUT of SSDI  Hang in there hun!

I don't like cigarette smoke at all. Two of my co-workers smoke and one of them smells really awful. Every time she talks to me or stands next to my desk it just reaks. :scared: I can't say anything but the smell is awful and really strong.

We have engineers who smoke too and they smoke in front of the lobby door and the wind blows it inside. When they walk by our department we can smell it too and it's really strong.

honestly I think they have given up...you know how drs are...if they cant find it with a couple of tests then rather than admit they dont know what they're doing they chuck it up to psychological, being overweight, or diabetes :rolleyes2
