:scared: sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppy day today.

Went to bed at 10 pm, got up at 3 am to drop inlaws off at LAX, got back home and slept for another 3 hours. Sitting in my PJs all day today, we ordered Domino's for lunch (freebie, they had screwed up the last order-- nothing tastes better than a free pizza!), cuddling on the couch, watching movies. :cloud9:

Hubby crawled back to bed... he was put on an additional blood pressure med, a little too much of a dose ??? He has been bottoming out, feeling woozy, took his BP and it's low. Had him drink some water hoping it might boost him up a bit. Eating lunch helped too, poor guy. It's hard to find a good balance with some of the meds.

Well the inlaw visit was a success! We stayed the whole day at DL on Friday, haven't watched fireworks since June ! MIL had last been to DL 30 some years ago, so it was fun to see how the park had changed and what things she remembered. She's not a big Disney fan, didn't know some of the character names and foggy on storylines... but she enjoyed herself.. Watching her cussing out her sons for getting her on Space Mountain was a hoot!:rotfl2:

She had a blast at Fiesta Foods (Latino grocery store), chatting up the clerks in Spanish and translating signage for us. She bought a bunch of food from the deli (adn we bought bakery items), had an all day feast of tamales, carnita, cabesa, and steak for tacos, beans, rice, empanadas, churros. YUM!

I wasn't too thrilled with the steak-- tomato based = owie tummy for me.

And I sampled a tiny bit of the beef cabesa, but was a little squeamish, not to mention it's mostly fat. ( It's meat from the head of a cow)

The carnitas (roasted pork) was very very good.. almost as good as Chipotle!

Now we know what things are really good to buy there- mmmmmmmm.

We watched the deli worker prep a GIANT bowl of menudo , ewwwwww beef tripe is nasty looking. The bowl was the size you would use as a serving bowl for your family's table. That's a lot of tripe!

ok, that's what I have been doing this weekend...

sniff sniff.. I need a shower.. BYE!

ok, gotta explain the refrence to Gedney pickle in my siggie.. it's a MN product.

Enjoy this annoying ....errrr I mean umm cute and joyful...:thumbsup2 jingle for yourself

I played it so many times that hubby began to dance along and sing the words.
:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:   :lmao: :rotfl2:

Gedney, It's the MN pickle.. It's no ordinary pickle.. it's the MN pickle:cool1:

Back from my busy day. Went & picked up the mail. Got my genetic testing questions to fill out. I thought the funniest question was "Why are you seeking genetic testing"? My answer "so I can decide whether to chop off my right breast also".

DS & I went to the skate park. Someone had stolen the broom yesterday, but they must have felt guilty and brought it back last night!:lmao: You just have to love a small town!! Anyway I swept about half the park for the kids, it was a good workout ! Then I scootered. DS went down into the big bowl (like a giant empty swimming pool). I'm so glad he could get out because there was no way I could get him out of there!:scared1:

Then we went & watched DD race. She signed up for 2 classes, Womens & 125 Beginner. We built a campfire and sat around that and had fun. Came home and DH & DS went back up to elk camp. DS was missing his dad, so they are spending a little quality time together hunting tomorrow. They tomorrow afternoon they will bring the trailer home. No luck at elk hunting this year, but I know that DH has fun just the same.

I got a nice surprise in the mail today. The Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation received a donation from Visa card and they sent me a $100 Visa Debit Card as a thank you for raising so much money for them this year.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

At first I was thinking I would have a fun shopping trip. But the more I think about it, the more I feel I should do something more meaningful with the money. I know a couple of people that are going through breast cancer treatment right now, so I think I'm going to invite them to go out for a nice lunch.:thumbsup2

GOOD EVENING HYENAS!

I feel a lot better today....was able to work out some problems. :thumbsup2 My bf and I watched the movie Martian Child. It was really good and it made me cry but in a good way! :sad1: It's a really touching film and you guys should all see it. :thumbsup2

We woke up pretty late today and we were starving by the time the movie was over. We ate at my favorite Middle Eastern kabob place. We had the chicken kubideh with cucumber yogurt. They also made a different type of bread (usually they give you lavash). They have this little metal cooker with wheels on the bottom and they bake the bread in there outside. It tasted really good. :goodvibes

We stopped by Barnes & Noble and I got the 8th season of Full House on DVD. I can't believe it's the last season but I've always loved this show. :)

I hope you hyenas had a great day! :goodvibes

Alison- that is awesome and the lunch is a great idea. You're such a thoughtful person and I admire your spirit of giving to others.

Looks like I just missed you Pix! No one was here so I went to the Komen board to spread a little cancer cheer!:lmao: I'm just sitting here watching one of my all time favorite movies - The Bridges of Madison County. Best Clint Eastwood movie ever.:thumbsup2 Of course DH disagrees!:lmao:

Glad you're feeling better today! Your dinner sounds yummy. I just ate some vegetarian pizza. But I'm still hungry! So now I'm sitting here eating a package of baby carrots and some chocolate covered raisins.

Pix, I'm glad things are looking up! I have no idea what the issue was, of course, but I bet it feels good to come up with a solution. Hopefully whatever it was is now resolved, or on the right track. :thumbsup2

I read in the paper today that the imagineer that was most instrumental in inventing the Splash Mountain ride passed away. He was in his 50's. He worked on a lot of the other rides, but most people give him credit for inventing Splash Mountain.

Yes, I saw that earlier in the week, though I didn't realize he was only in his 50s!

I figured I could do housework or DIS tonight. Guess which one won?? DD is tired from racing and went to bed about an hour ago. DH & DS went to spend the night at elk camp. It's so strange, when the kids are little you pray to have a day or two to yourself, just for a little break. Then when they start getting older you are left sitting by yourself! Guess I should enjoy the peace & quiet while I have it. Tomorrow will be back to normal chaos!

How are things going with you? Recuped from your DL trip yet? It always takes me a couple of weeks to get back in the swing of things, back into a schedule, caught up with laundry!!!!!!

DS7 claimed to be too hot earlier this evening, and took off his shirt. I don't know why, but it just cracks me up to see him running around with just his jeans on. DS3, not to be outdone, took off his pants and shirt, and is running around in a Pull-Up and a Batman cape. :rotfl2:

Says he was 56 and died suddenly at his home in Glendale. No cause of death determined yet. Said he first visited DL as a young boy shortly after it opened and was always building models of DL attractions in his garage as he was growing up.

I think it's a boy thing! DS is always running around the house half dressed. DD used to always yell at him to put clothes on. Seemed like he was either missing a shirt or just running around in his undies.

Glad we have Batman around to save Gotham City from nightime leaks!:thumbsup2
