What is it? I love the name, sounds very exotic!

Smart and Final is different.... Haven't been there yet, they compare themsleves to Sam's or Costco but no membership fee.

Winco is a huge grocery store, they sell at a discount and have a big bulk section. I like Winco's employee policies.. they give them shares of stock as a benefit and they pay more than other grocery stores. They don't take credit cards so we always have to stop and get cash before we go.. they take debit but nether hubby or I have tried doing our bank cards under debit.

Oh, okay. I never heard of Winco. I've never been to Sam's Club. I've seen one somewhere in Camarillo but never went there.

It has a layer on a kind of cocao, graham cracker, coconut, pecan crust...and a really thick custard layer, and a chocolate top. Its a candy... The description doesnt do it justice... It is just yummy!

Cool! Starting Nov. 7th @ 8pm, the food network will have programs called "Let's Talk Turkey" and it will show various shows cooking Thanksgiving meals. This will be the first time I will be spending Thanksgiving on a cruise ship.

I got the November issue of Rachael Ray's magazine. She has some cool recipes for leftover turkey.

Ooooo, you had me until the coconut! :crazy2:

It sounds yummy for someone who can stomach coconut. I love fresh coconut but once it's dried I don't like it. :confused3

:thumbsup2 Cool! We are spending the day after thanksgiving at my MIL's house..:sad2: We have only been there once since my bil's big outburst, and that was only so mil could watch the kids for Alex's school conference. They were there less then an hour, and when we picked them up we got the heck out of there... I think they got the hint that we dont want to be there anymore... Not that we ever did. :sad2: I dont even want to go for Thanksgiving, but dh says we have to... :headache: I see lots of alcohol in my future for that day!:lmao:

I've been collecting recipes (prinated off computer) that look like they will be good for my picky eaters. I plan to make a binder of the recipes.

I am a former cookbook junkie, now that I have discovered the treasure torve of online cooking websites.. I don't need to buy cookbooks!

See... I HATE coconut... It is pure evil in my eyes! I cant eat it in any form.. But the way its done, you wouldnt even notice that its in there... Its totally weird, and I am not even sure why its there..:confused3 I have never even thought about taking it out... I wonder what would happen...hmmmmm....

Not sure what we're doing yet for Thanksgiving, but it seems to me we went to DH's dad and stepmom's the last couple years, so I'm going to push to go to my parents'. My mom really does a big feast for Thanksgiving, and it just kills me to miss it!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate when someone else goes to the effort to make a nice meal, but there's nothing like mom's home cooking! She doesn't think she's much of a cook, but I so miss all the dishes from my childhood. I seriously need to learn how to make them! :rotfl:

And I need a bigger crock pot. Can't decide whether to ask for one as a Christmas gift, or just research one and buy. Who was it who had a big, really good one? I don't remember which one it was, but I think it was either Staley or Garcia?

I'm not a fan of coconut either....I only like it in the non-alcoholic version of this:

I'm glad my inlaws are coming before Thanksgving. I was startign to stress when hubby said his mom likes a big traditional meal for Thanksgving... we don't do traditonal. In fact, last year we didn't even buy any turkey.. made our favorite side dishes and I think we had chicken.

I don't see why I should buy a big turkey, that we will only eat the breast. Makes more sense to buy just a breast---- even if it costs more. Tastes better too.
