HMMMM, haven't read back yet but apparently I missed yet another fun hyena night.:sad2:

We packed a ton of fun into our weekend, got home and crashed each night.. ahhh life is good in California. :goodvibes

Saturday was our beach day.
Newport Beach has a nice mellow mood. A little cool out that morning but the ocean was warm. Played with the waves fror a few hours, headed back home.
Hubby took a wrong turn and ended up on the Pacific Coast Highway instead of the 55. Meandered up to Huntington Beach.. totally different feel than Newport.
Swanky Hyatt hotel that was over 2 blocks long of multiple buildings, lots and lots of tourists, shopping, and oil drills??? :confused3 Ok that threw me for a loop. Beautiful beach on one side.. across the street.. industrial factories and oil drills pumping away.

Went home and crashed, slept two hours and vegged for the rest of the day.

Sunday was Disneyland Day!!!!:woohoo:
Followed the crowd back to Nemo and decided it wasn't worth it.
Knocked out all the Fantasyland rides with ZERO wait in line (everyone was in line for Nemo
Wandered back to BTMRR- another zero wait.
HM, Pirates... this is fun, walk on for all the rides.
Went over on the first raft to the island, first time for the boys to see the changes. The Smugglers Cove was the favorite.. perfect for teen/preteen boys:thumbsup2 Stumbled upon Jack by the treasure pile, we were too shy to interact with him. He commented "no taking the treasure in your hats now" as we left. We heard someone else come out of the cave behind Jack.. they gave a little scream and scrambled off

Later we got hungry, decided to go to DTD for tacos. Hubby loved it, boys weren't too happy. Too bad so sad.
Decided to cut thru the Grand into DCA. Started walking thru the hall leading into the Grand...

We got DREAMED!! :woohoo: (Lanyards with two pins.)

A first for all of us!

Hubby used his lanyard for his work ID today :)

Later we hopped back into DL. Had dinner at Plaza Inn, our new favorite must do meal. Encountered a crabby lady in line.. sigh... we enjoyed our meal in the coolness, far far away from the crabby lady.

Went on Indy. Got as far as sitting down and buckling up , the vehicle started , bounced a few times and then stopped.. BEEEEEEEP
Yep, we broke that side.
Switched to the other loading side. Every few scenes we stopped. Sound track off, ride vehicle bouncing and making engine noises.
It was so freakin funny, music crescendo to build excitemnt, getting close to the arrow/air blast scene.. and we STOP. Bounce bounce bounce , engine noise for a few minutes, finally the mucis comes back on .. get my lovely hair do done. And then we STOP! Bounce, bounce bounce.. finally speed off again. Get to the rock rolling/ Indy hanging above us scene. He says his spiel.. and STOP! Bounce bounce boune.. Indy is twiching above our heads, no sound. Then we do the rest of the scene, get to the bottom. We STOP , the music plays on as if we had finished the ride. Start back up, move a few feet, we STOP .. right in front of Indy twitching, moving thru the actions with no sound in the last scene.
Hubby says "look he has Parkinson's" :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I say "nooooooo , he's having a seizure" :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao:  :lmao: :lmao:

We laughed all the way back up the exit.
To find the crowds have taken over the park. Crowded everywhere we turned.
Debated going on more rides, did Buzz. Then decided we had enough and headed home before the evening parade started.

My feet hurt today. I have blisters :guilty: and an itchy rash on the back of my calves. Not sure if it was from being splashed on Pirates or whatever odd thing my sensitive skin decided to react on.
So it's a barefoot and cropped PJs day, give everything a chance to relax and heal.

yes, life is good in California.
Hi Bernice,

Was wondering where you have been??? :confused3

So glad you are enjoying your new home state. Yes California is busy, but it is soooooooooooooo much fun. I love living here. There is something for everyone. And when you miss the snow, take a drive to the mountains. They are beautiful too. I hope your boys are settling in too. By the way......did they not like the tacos, or were they tired of DL??????????????

Talk to you later.

Bernice that's awesome that your family got dreamed! :) I hope I get dreamed one day but I don't think I will if I go alone.

Your Indie experience sounds funny! :) Next time u go to DL we should meet there and have dole whip floats! :)

BTW, I'm at the dentist right now. Boo! :( He just gave me shot of novicane and told me to wait. I hate that needle! :faint:

Good morning, hyenas!
Weird weather today (sunny, overcast, sunny, overcast), but supposedly to be sunny in the afternoon. We'll see. :)

Bern, sounds like you had a really fun weekend; tho sorry to hear about the rash. DSs and I have sensitive skin, too, and it's...well, irritating!

Pix, sorry you have to have work done, I hate that. It's been so long since I've had anything done (other than the braces and regular cleanings, of course), but I had a drill-happy dentist when I was a kid, and he was too cheap to use novocaine, the jerk! I'm still stunned when I remember it. :sad2:

So be happy to get the novocaine! :thumbsup2

Gotta get moving for the day, we have a few errands to run this morning, including picking up a few last minute school supplies, and some movies for this evening. Should be fun!

Hasta luego!

That's cool that you got "Dreamed". My sister was there on Sunday too and her and her boyfriend got dreamed (a free 5X7 photo and a button). DBF and I were right down the street from Disneyland yesterday. We went to dinner with DBF's cousin (the one who works at Disneyland!) and her son. DBF picked up the tab. Think she got the hint that we were trying to score more free Disneyland tickets? :rotfl:

Miss the snow?? Are you nuts!!!??!! I don't think that will be a problem, though hubby did mention that he kinda misses rain.

The boys don't like corn tortillas (yes I know, it's crazy. They are part Latino and don't like corn tortillas, do you know how hard it is to find a good deal on flour tortillas around here?? Our favorite kind can only be found at Walmart-- ewww shudder...I'm not a Walmart lover).
I told them it tastes similar to the chicken tacos I make at home, except they had to scrape off cilantro and onions. "J" ate most of his, "N" scraped all the good stuff off, took a few bites and called it quits. sigh... what can a mother do?
:confused3

"J" has decided he likes ROTC after all. He keeps telling me "I need a hair cut!" ( they told him it can't touch his collar). And practiced doing the step- turn when we were out shopping on Friday. Silly boy, he is relentless when practicing a new skill. I remember when he taught himself to ride a bike... fell off, got back on, fell HARD, got back on. Over and over for hours. The older kids in the neighborhood were amazed "take a break" , he would get a very determined look in his eye "NO!" and get back on the bike.. ignoring the bleeding knees and scraped elbows. :upsidedow
Now if he could apply some of that hard work and determination to his writing skills, he might ace his english class. I don't kow how his teachers can decipher his scribblings.

"N" shared with us that he feels his language arts/social studies teacher is unfair. I gotta agree with him. Punishing the entire class for a few nosiy ones is not fair. And saying "You're in for a He-ll of day tomorrow" when she caught the group being noisy while waiting for the math teacher :scared1:
Yelling and swearing at students is a no-no right??? Or is there some crazy law in CA that allows that type of behavior for teachers here?? :sad2:

I thought of you on Sunday, even my youngest was asking "are any of your interent friends here?" .

That's too funny, posting on the DIS while waiting for your Novicane to kick in  Obviously you have a hyena addiction!

Okay... so it looks like we are doing Tahoe for a day!!:woohoo: My mom is totally leaving it up to me to plan it, just my kind of thing!:lmao: I found us a beach, it looks very nice, and they have paddle boat rentals!!!:thumbsup2 I already have Life Jackets for them, I just need to see if Mikalahs will fit her!:lmao: I bought it last year, and it is an Infant one, so she might need a new one. But you would think the rental place has some, right? And my mom got us tickets to see America.. Now, i am going to ask you guys... seeing as how I am younger then just about everyone here.. Who is America? What sort of music is it? I have never heard of them.. my sister says they are some sort of old rock band or something. :confused3 Anyone know?

You guys are all crazy!! Funnygarcia, I'm glad you're enjoying California. That's too cool you got dreamed, I'm hoping I get dreamed but I wish I didn't because I really don't want to be disappointed.

P-dust I can't believe you were chatting from the dentist chair :rotfl: That's so crazy. I remember when Ellen had a gimmick on her show called what are you doing when watching the Ellen show. I was getting my wisdom teeth pulled and I was watching Ellen and I thought about writing in to her but I never did. Anyways we should have gimmick called what is Pixter doing when chatting to the hyena's. You're always somewhere new!

Anyways, nothing new with me except I haven't been able to sleep and my body is turning back to the Canadian time zone. I was up last night until 5:30 AM!!!!! I was hurting this morning, hopefully tonight I can sleep otherwise I'm getting some sleeping pills from the doctor. I can't function during the day otherwise.

Alright Staley, that's twice now I've seen your green light come on and you leave without saying hi, one more and I'll think you're avoiding me

Next time you go to DL, give me a call! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes *psst! We can steal Albort's churro inventory!! ;)

CHRISTINA!! :cheer2: I'm sorry you aren't sleeping well :( If you don't adjust to the time zone soon, then definitely see a doctor. I don't want you to feel all miserable and tired.

LOL, I know...I'm always DIS'ing on my cell phone! Either that or I'm on the Mazda board. The dentist left me in that room for a long time!! He told me it would take 10-15 minutes so I started text messaging my sister and posting on the hyena thread. :teeth: He took about 30 minutes to come back. My jaw hurt so bad when he was finished. I thought I was going to scream towards the end of the root canal process! :headache: He put all these things in my mouth to keep it open and my jaw was so sore. I'm just glad it's over. I have to go back in October for the crown. :sad2:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_(band)

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la la a la la
