I've been seen seeing a lot of drug busts lately in my area. I'm not sure what's going on but it's always teens. I live in one of the safest cities in CA because we have TONS of cops. I just never knew there were that many druggies here.
That's crazy! None of our teens do drugs, just the grunge rockers... :lmao:
I cracked myself up! :rotfl2:

HUH? I don't get the lunch box thing.

Does that mean he doesn't get his lunch box until later inthe lunch hour and that's why he doesn't get a chance to eat all of it??
What if he had allergies? School lunch wouldn't even be an option for some kids (I know it isn't for my nephew.) Besides, they are expensive compared to a bagged lunch from home.

hmm, anxious? about what?
Wanting to know "what comes next?" in the schedule?
anxiety about doing the right thing and answering eveything right??

I dont know!! She doesnt like that they have the little kids eating with the big kids... so I think she is just biased on the whole lunch issue all together. I havent been able to get a straight answer out of Alex how it works... I dont know, we will have to see. I think I might just send him to school with a brown bag... That way he can just throw it away!!

She didnt mention what he was anxious about. When we were walking out of the school, I was kicking myself for not asking her to be more specific... Grrr.... I should know all the right questions to ask!:headache:

:rotfl2: I don't know why that is...but it's mostly teen boys. A few weeks ago I was driving home and I passed by my brother's old high school. Well there were tons of cop cars (at least 5 or 6) and you could see there flashing lights. Then I saw a bunch of teen boys sitting on the curb with the bright lights flashed in their face from the cop cars. They even had police dogs and the cops were looking through bags and inside their car.

The most recent one I saw was near my house and the cop found a duffle bag and was placing a bunch of stuff on the hood of the car. I think he found weed or something.

It's scary sometimes because when I drive home at night, most of the time there are a bunch of teens standing in front of a local church driveway. There all smoking and they look dazed
Ugh. Religious druggies are the worst! I'm related to one... :sad2:

Maybe you could speak to the principal about the lunch schedule? That's dumb if the teacher being biased is causing the kids to have unorganized lunch schedules.

Try asking her again what she meant about him being anxious.

hey, my oldest is in high school.. I STILL don't know the right questions to ask.

If he seems ok with school then I would just let it slide for awhile.
Conferences are when?? Like October?
Not too far away in the grand scheme of things, takes awhile for students AND teachers to settle into the swing of things.

But I bet he's learning so much more than just numbers and letters ;) social skills, routines, forming friendships.. lots of new skills to tackle.

My little sister is lucky! She gets to DDR at school for P.E. class! I told her they made us run laps around the football field, jump rope (yes, jump rope which was very odd) and play basketball and softball.

OMG, are you SURE we're not related??? :rotfl:

Ask if she's got an email address. Or you can check out the school's website, usually the teacher's email ID is listed on there. It's much easier to keep in touch via email, especially since going to the school means a drive for you.

So do they have a cafeteria? DS's school doesn't, so each class eats in their own classroom. The kids that are getting hot lunch line up and go out toward the gym to the lunch line, but the kids who bring theirs just stay in the room and can start eating.

Waiting to get his lunchbox, or there being confusion about where it goes afterward just doesn't make sense to me. DS keeps his lunch in his backpack until it's time to eat; then he puts it back when he's done. :confused3

She's not causing their lunch to be unorganized.. She has nothing to do with it, she just drops them off, and the lunch people take care of them. I think a HUGE part of the problem is, this is the first time they have ever had full day kindergarten... So they are reall trying to figure out how to work the little kids, and see what works out for them. The teacher doesnt think the little ones should be with the older kids, and she thinks its to unorganized...

There is a Parents night in a few days, so I will talk to her then.
