Hello, we haven’t been to Disney is 6 years. A lot has changed and we are out of practice. We are going this summer. Our dates are picked. 6/24-71. Here’s what we want to do...
We have about $2500 in Disney Gift Cards (been saving up with rewards and gifts and such) that we are using to buy the tickets instead of cash. However, we are buying 5 day tickets for the kids (13,10,6) and 6 days for DW and myself. We are staying 8 nights offsite and including 2 nonpark days for the kids. One of those days will have an afternoon date for dw and myself at Epcot.
On the website, I can’t seem to buy three 5 day tickets and two six day tickets at the same time. Do we need to make two separate purchases?

Also, should I wait to buy tickets? It seems to be nonrefundable. Finally, I only need to buy memory maker once right?

1. Yup. Click the number of tickets of one kind you that want,
and THEN click "Continue,"
and THEN click the number of tickets of a different kind that you want.
2. It is.
3. Yup.

If you place the 5 day tickets in your cart, you can then scroll down and click to continue shopping for more tickets. You can then add the 6-day tickets for you and your wife. You only need to buy Memory Maker once. Yes, once purchased, they are non-refundable, but they do not lose value so you can always modify the dates or even use the value toward new tickets if you don't go and they end up expiring. Since you are staying offsite, you don't need your tickets linked in your My Disney Experience account until 30 days prior to your first park day so you can start making FP+ reservations. The only downside of waiting until then, though, is there may be a ticket price increase between now and then.

I apologize about repeating myself, but I just want to be 100% sure on what you are saying. We are 100% going. However, some unforeseen circumstance happens and I can’t go that week, then I can just call and have the tickets be for the following week. Correct? I wouldn’tneed my money back. However, knowing that I have flexibility is good on if there needs to be a slight change.

Not an expert, but by from what I have learned yes you can change dates on your tickets. I have been told you can change the date yourself on My Disney Experience. Might want to double check that info because it is just what I have been told.

Yes, you can modify the tickets to a later date. Just know, if your later dates have a higher ticket fee, you would have to pay the difference. If by chance, the tickets expire, you can still use their current value to purchase new tickets as well.

Yes, we did this during the days leading up to Hurricane Dorian. We moved one of our days and just had to pay the difference. I did everything on the app.

Here’s what we want to do...

Can you pay with giftcards on the app or MDE online? I remember not being able to use a giftcard to pay for a dessert party and had to call in and have someone do it. I don't know if it's the same for regular tickets? I've never tried because we either use Undercover Tourist for tickets or purchase them outright on the app and a cc.

I’ve used gift cards to buy tickets on the app.
Tickets are expensive enough that I can only buy 1-2 long multi-day tickets per transaction. (Disneygiftcard.com only allows up to $1000 at a time.). After a transaction, I reload the gift card and buy another...

If you didn’t already know - you can go to www.Disneygiftcard.com and combine multiple smaller-value gift cards. Max to combine is $1000. So you will end up with 3 gift cards for a total $2500. And I think WDW website will only accept 2 gift cards per transaction, so you may need to split the transaction as Robo suggested.

WDW’s tickets now make you select a “start date” and have a related expiration date. If your travel plans change unexpectedly, you can change the “start date” and pay any difference in price, or if the tickets expired without using, you can apply their value towards new tickets. The funds spent/value are not lost.

Enjoy your vacation.

My first response to the subject was "have a LOT of money and listen to your wallet beg for mercy"
