unsure about what happened to our points

I checked today under "my dashboard" to check on our points--it says I have 48 points Aug 2017 which is correct then it says 100 points for Aug 2018 which is also correct

but then yet there was a notifacation about banking points which says

48 points for current use and 48 points available to bank

I cant figure that out shouldnt it be 100 points to bank--we have a trip booked for Jan which I booked in Feb of this year

also it says vacation points lent from 2016 -17 I have no clue what thats about

I have a feeling somehow we lost points which doesnt make me feel too good

could someone please explain this to me

You are currently in your August 2017 UY which you can bank during the first 8 months of the UY.

Your 2017 use year is 8/1/2017 to 7/31/2018. You have until 3/31/2018 to bank any remaining 2017 points if you wish to use them 8/1/2018 or after.

When we bought into the dvc we were told we needed to bank points by the end of March so I'm figuring that by the end of March I need to bank the 48 points from 2017 use year that with the 100 points for uy 2018 but looking under the notifications doesn't seem to be the same this is rather confusing

Because your use year is August, your 2017 points can be use from 8/01/2017- 07/31/2018 as DebbieB stated. The reason the notifications says that you have 48 points available to bank, is because until 3/31/2018, your 2017 are able to be banked into your 2018 use year. you only have 48 points left in th 2017 use year, so that is all that are available for banking. If you make another reservation in your 2017 use year, you will have less points available for banking.

The 100 points in your 2018 use year don't need to be banked, because they are already in your 2018 use year. You cannot bank them into your 2019 use year until 8/01/2018 when the use year begins.

thanks all for the great replies--I can see now whats going on with the points

sorry for all the questions but we bought into the DVC early in 2015 so the first time we used it was april of 2016 and we already have 2018 booked so Im still pretty new at making sure my points go where they should be
