unsubcribe from a thread?

can someone help me figure out how to unsubscribe from a particular thread? I can't figure it out.... (I get 20 "Picture of the Day" emails every day!"

At the top of every DIS page there is a dark bar with links. The first on the left is "User CP". Click on that.

The next page will have an expandable menu down the left side. Scroll down until you can see the title "Subscribed Threads". If it hasn't been expanded (the little triangle will be pointing up if it isn't), then click on it to expand. From the submenu, click on "List Subscriptions".

Click on the link that says "View All SUbscribed Threads".

Tick off any threads that you would like to unsubscribe to by clicking on the box to the right of the thread. Click on the dropdown menu at the bottom of the page that is next tot he phrase "Selected Threads".

Choose "Delete Subscription" and click on <<GO>>. You should now be unsubscribe the threads you chose.

POOF! No more emails about that thread.

I also have a question about this subject. On another board forum I will occasionally post. When I click on User CP it will show me if there has been any activity on that thread. Sometimes they get lost after a couple of days. Do I have to activate something to get this option to work here? Is there an easier way to find replies to my questions? Thanks
