Unstoppable countdown to NO MORE BUSH!

They are right. The more appropriate way to behave after the election of a President that you do not like is to appoint a partisan special prosecuter and go for the impeachment angle.

Gee, lots of "glass half empty" people posting here. I see the OP as a bit of an optimist in that he's pointing out "this too shall pass". Really, when you think about it, what is so negative about a reminder that Bush's presidency is something that will end. If a counter can help someone keep that in mind, what's the problem?

How exactly does that mean that we are "glass half empty" people? I personally see things with a "glass half full" attitude. The OP was quite obviously trying to be negative and they don't even live in the U.S. so why should he/she be concerned about when President Bush's presidency ends. By the way, that will be a sad day for me.

Well, dad is still eligible for another four years, and there's also brother Jeb. That's 16 years. By then there will be another generation eligible.

Could be a dynasty.

If that is the case then that makes the OP's statement even more irrelevant. They are not voting for our President, we are.

That's 5 out of 6 people in the United Kingdom (all lands).

Yes, our politics has problems, but you must remember that our soldiers are in Iraq very much against the will of the public, just so we can help you in what you want to do.

Hundreds of millions of people worldwide who sat through the middle of wars and terror regard President Bush both as naïve and dangerous - we are scared both for the American people and for those that may be affected.

The lesson is that violence begets violence.

The UK was hunted by the IRA. Spain by ETA. Russia by Chechnian rebels. You aren't alone in your pain, believe us.

We know that it hurts.

Things like this should not be ignored, but neither should they be given the status of a "war" and so on; as America is learning from more and more attacks, this just gives the bully what he wants: all out conflict.

I am not criticising you the people, I am pleading - before you react, look into this, even if your only goal is to disprove it. That would be a positive, wise step, one that I believe a great many Americans take anyway :)

I will sleep a little better when my Prime Minister and your President, a duo that went to war in Iraq on grounds that did not convince a huge number of the public, are safe in retirement. As politicians, they are invaluable. As leaders, they are not the best our countries can do.

Please listen to the world beyond your walls - it's bigger and more varied than you or I could ever know.

But I do agree with "stunna" - keep on bashing our Pres. & it just may come back to bite you! And I hope it does...

Because some people (in general) are quicker to see the negative than the positive. In this case I can see how both sides should be able to see a positive in the post - regardless of what you think the OP meant.

Bush supporters: woohoo we've got four more years
Bush detractors: woohoo only four more years

Really, I mean no disrespect to the OP or those posting here but just wanted to comment that perhaps it's time to stop beating each other up and start looking for the "silver lining" in posts. I won't lie, I'm not happy that Bush won but that doesn't mean all I can think about is "gloom and doom". A post like this can only be an insult to you and your views if you let it be. Maybe the approach should be "He (the OP) can express his opinion but it doesn't change mine so what does it matter to me what he thinks?"

Jeb's son George is in his late 20's and has political aspirations, he can take over after that!

Why is that?

I'm happy for you to bash even my favourite politician - criticism only helps to show the flaws and in turn to fix them.

I'm not sure about Iraq. . .maybe he can move to Treblinka Square, though? Where's that, again, anyways?

He'll have to beat the twins in the primary. If I had thought of it, I would have voted for them this time!

You are assuming that one of the parties will provide us with a reasonable candidate next time.

Don't bet the big bucks.

Why don't you change your countdown to "No more Tony Blair"--he's your Prime Minister and got your country into a place that you want your country to be. Bush asked--but Blair is the one who said yes. So please go protest in front of Parliament and work on ousting your own leadership!
(no disrespect to British Disers in general--This is just aimed at the OP who opened up this can of worms!)

Ahhhhh. . . . did you forget who started the thread?

I did not wast my time reading this thread. I just want to say that this is getting old. Move on. You don't even live here and could care less what your opinion of Bush is. Get a life. Go do something other than sit around thinking of ways to bash a man that doesn't effect you.

Are we really sure Bush can't run again in 2008? Afterall, he didn't really "win" in 2000, did he? For the past for years I kept hearing he wasn't elected, but rather appointed.
