Unreal!! They cancelled my reservation!

Ok, let me try to explain. I had a BWV studio booked for dec 14 & 15. I was on the waitlist for the 16th. I called on Nov 8 to check. Nothing. I call on Nov 10 - nothing. So I cancel my 2 nights (before 31 days out) and get on the waitlist for all 3 nights together.

Today, Nov 19, I get a confirmation in the mail for dec 14, 15 & 16. Great, I think. My waitlist came in. But I look at the date on it and it says it was booked on Nov 9.

Wait, I cancelled on Nov 10 and they said it didn't come in yet :confused: So I go online and of course I cannot access my vacation details. So I click on points activity and sure enough, they booked it for me and then cancelled it on Nov 10!

Why would they outright lie to me and tell me it did not come in and then cancel it??? I am pretty mad right now. Worst of all, the woman I spoke to that day was not nice. She had a cold and sounded awful and just was not friendly. I had gotten the survey at the end and I was going to make sure I did it. Do you know I waited on the line for 5 min and she never hung me up! I am not kidding. I think she knew that I had gotten the survey and was trying to prevent me from taking it.

Time to send off an email to member satisfaction. I am also going to call tomorrow. Unbelievable that some people are so crappy at their jobs.
 
Wow! Do I feel bad for you! I would sure ask for a supervisor and find our what in the world happened and why their system is so hard to access.
 
Well I sent off an email to member satisfaction. I had to deal with them not too long ago and they were wonderful. But I honestly don't know what they will do for me here....
 

I tell you what, lately, if I get a not so helpful, not so magical rep, I check availability and then I call back.

They will and can mess you up and I need someone that is patient, willing to listen and help me. If they are not, I dont want them touching my reservation.

The new waitlist policy is a PITA, especially with amateur MS reps.

It seems all the oldtimers are getting promoted or leaving and the new ones, leave much to be desired:sad2:

I am in Goose Creek, Crowfield Plantation. I agree with Liferbabe, If I get a clueless or rude CM, I hang up and try again. We are going to be in Disney the same time you are suppose to be. I sure hope you get this worked out. We are at BCV's.
 
I agree with what the others have said. Just call back. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw, but in all probabilities how likely is it that you will get two incompetent/rude :confused3 Cast Members twice in a row. It shouldn't happen at all but.... :scared1:
 
I have had many issues this past week booking a reservation day by day at the 11 month window. I feel for you ((hugs)) Keep us posted.

I feel for you, and there is most certainly an issue with the way the reservation/wait listing system works.

However, you said you canceled your reservation on November 10th. This leads me to think that a) The wait listed room became available on November 9th, and was unfortunately not passed on through the system to when you checked, and b) the November 10th cancellation was your requested cancellation for December 14 and 15, and by the time IT was processed, the wait listed December 16 had been added.

Still, it's a terrible situation, and obviously not your fault. You did everything possible as a member to confirm the availability and protect your points. I honestly hope they are able to restore your reservation, or at the very least offer an apology and some sort consolation.

I agree. I wouldn't be concerned with the messed-up website, but I'd sure talk to a supervisor and press them hard to re-book your ressie.

There is no excuse for all these screwups with the waitlist. Frankly, I wouldn't even use waitlist at all -- if there's no availability, I'll just go some other time. They mess you up more often than they help you, it seems -- usually by fulfilling the waitlist and cancelling the base reservation!

I almost always find MS CMs to be very good, but their waitlist brainfart is badly broken and they need to fix it.

I hope people going to the Annual Meetings will bring up all the screwups with the new waitlist procedures, because you can bet the MS folks aren't telling their bosses.

Adding on a day, or reservation, fine but not if it touches my original reservation. Too many oops! for me.

What they did with the waitlist change is pretty much guaranteed the majority stay at their home resort during peak times. No way would I let them touch my Christmas or NYE reservation:scared1:
 
Yes I agree the new waitlist system SUCKS!!!!

I was able to straigten out my MS mess this morning (which had nothing to do with the waitlist) but I have never ever had the problems booking a reservation liks I did with this one (I needed 3, yes 3 manual adjustments of points, on ONE reservation, due to MS messing up things)

I agree I wanted to waitlist for this december but I was too afraid it would get messed up so I am staying at my home resort.

Yes....I would really try to get my ressie reinstated.....

If people keep pushing....it will "inconvenience DVC management....
and only then will they change it.
