Unpopular Opinions

I don't like that if i wanted to spring for a concierge room that the deposit is non-refundable. Reasoning aside, i just don't like it. Something about not having flexibility just turns me away from it. The only way i book it is usually at the port.

We have a cruise booked with a stop in Nassau and we won't get off the ship. We've been there before and it didn't do anything for us but the safety warnings are also in the back of my mind. The same with Mexico, we're done. Been there too and it's a shame because it's so beautiful and the people are so nice but IMHO it's not worth the safety risk. A few bad eggs (criminals) make it unpleasant for the masses, shameful.
All of Mexico?

This has been a fun thread to read thru! I love hearing all of the different opinions - it really shows you how everyone travels differently and is always surprising to see the things you love being hated by others and vice versa.

Overall, I love Disney cruising. I love that there are things for all ages. We have traveled with and without kids - as adults who do not like drinking or dancing, we find a Disney cruise for adults only a perfect vacation.

I tend to agree with the majority opinion it looks like on most things (love Golden Mickeys and Believe and would rather die than have to watch Villains - I didn't know anyone actually liked that show until I read this thread). I love the food at Cookies BBQ and Castaway Cay and despise everything about Nassau. I guess my one unpopular opinion is that Animator's palate is my least favorite restaurant. I don't like the atmosphere, and it is too loud...plus Crush is annoying and only talks to a few tables so the rest feel left out. We tend to skip that place now and eat in the room.

What this thread shows is that everyone can have something they enjoy and something they hate in the same trip - hope everyone enjoys their next vacation!

Cozumel is my favorite Caribbean port. Lot of criminals in the US too.

That is also an "unpopular opinion" I have to live with.

I hated being told that I "live in fear and will never do anything in my life" just because I chose not to go to Nassau especially because of the safety warnings.

"Being aware of my surroundings and exercise extreme caution" is not something I want to do on vacations. Sorry, not sorry. And nothing will be beautiful or fun enough to risk my safety.

uh oh, this is turning into a bad Nassua/ bad mexico thread.....we've had a few of those. crime here, blah,blah,blah.......

i just meant that when staying on/getting off is brought up, things traditionally spiral out of control....
I think we should have a curmudgeon thread soon, as there was on a different board a while back.....

Everyone just relax and hug it out:love1:(she said jokingly, is that a word?) here's my point... everyone should be aware of their surroundings every where they are. If a travel warning is issued, one should consider what that means for them.

Yes, it is, but people "condemn" all of Mexico because of drug cartel problems hundreds of miles away.

That would be "sad" (I guess... for the people who live from tourism)...

Before ruling out a destination, I try to measure how dangerous a place really is (I like the Neighbourhood Scout for that)or/and try to read crime reports and I consider the "warnings" issued. That is why I ruled out Nassau and most popular cruise ports of Jamaica. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable there.

Mexico has never been in my plans so far... Never made research about it so I can't tell.

aaaaaand, THAT'S what I meant was going to happen...(see above posts)....

Honest to gosh, we get that there is danger everywhere......

My unpopular opinion is that hugging it out is too risky. I'm afraid I might get shivved in the back. :)
