Unpopular opinion - Space Mountain needs a new track

The chaotic, rough ride is part of what makes it Space Mountain. Always has been. Like @BrianL says, it is what it is.
The chaotic, rough bumpy ride using the Parking Spot bus at the airport is what it is also, but does not mean I need to like it. I understand when fans of the current ride say keep MK Space Mountain like it is, but I think after 50 years of use, SM has had its time and is due for a modern refresh/design for the next 50 years.

I call it the back cracker. Sometimes it ends on the right crack & I am "popped" back into place. Other times I have to make an appt with my chiro. Personally the having to toss my backpack first & crawl out onto the platform laughing is my favorite part. I have never been able to gracefully exit that ride :rotfl:

It had been 7 years between rides for me and I personally thought it was a lot rougher than the last visit, which was a shame because Space Mountain was one of my favorite rides and I'd been looking forward to it for so long.

I have officially aged out of SM and Matterhorn - also Rock n’ Roller Coaster. I would love to return to my youth and be able to ride again even if this meant changing the tracks, cars, any and all to a smoother roller coaster experience.

I totally understand the aging out thinking. I will say though, that my kids who are ages 14 & 16 also say how rough SM is and Rock'n Roller Coaster and would like to see them updated to be smoother. So I do not think it is only with age the rides are less desirable, I think the modern rides also make the old ones feel really old and outdated from a track design perspective.

I felt that way after riding Tron before it. Big difference though. SM still scares me even though it’s going like 20mph then all the other ones. For that reason alone, probably don’t want it more smooth. I always feel like I’m going to fly off the track ( fairly certain sometimes I actually do )

That’s the point
