Unpack or live out of suitcases????

I always unpack and use the drawers and closets for clothes. I try to hide the suitcases if poosible for more room...:)

I have to unpack! I hate living out of a suitcase. I always pack extra hangers and hang up just about everything because I don't iron. (At home I pop clothes in the dryer to remove wrinkles. :teeth: )

DH will unpack his shirts and hang them up, but he leaves most everything else in his suitcase and bags. And thank goodness, because he hauls so much carpola there's no room for it in the hotel room!

Dirty clothes go in a garbage bag or on the floor of the closet - I don't like to put dirty clothes in my suitcase. I might do one or two loads of laundry on vacation, just to keep down the amount of clothes we haul with us, but the rest of the laundry gets done at home over the course of a couple of days.

I hang up anything that might get wrinkled, and unpack shoes, toiletries, etc. With the recent resurgence of bedbugs , which are now nearly impossible to exterminate, I no longer use any hotel drawers. This is NOT a comment about Disney's housekeeping - bedbugs can come from anywhere. Dirty socks and undies go in a plastic laundry bag either supplied by the hotel, or brought from home.

I have a great suitcase that makes it easy to live out of. I pack it so that I can grab what I need from different compartments. It makes it easier and less stressful for me. My children have been living out of a suitcase since about when they turned 12-13 and I no longer would do the pack and unpack thing for them. They have taught me how much time I was wasting packing and unpacking and then when the clothes are dirty they are folded and put into one plastic bag lined drawer which make the packing to leave a breeze.

Wow, I didn't realize we were so unusual! We never unpack except for maybe hanging up a few particularly wrinkle prone items. We just pull clothes out of suitcases as we wear them. Dirty clothes go on the floor under the suitcase that is on the rack or on the floor of the closet.

I'm just like you - hang up the special outfits if we have special dinner ressies - pretty much everything else stays in the suitcase. I bring a bag for dirty clothes especially if they're wet & stinky after a long day in the parks.

For me, it depends on the length of the trip. Anything longer than 3 or 4 nights and I prefer to unpack, but on short trips, we just live out of the suitcases.

I was thinking the same thing and we unpack! :lmao: :lmao:

Interesting thread, I was sure EVERYONE unpacked! :rotfl:

We unpack everytime. I use wipes to clean the draws and then line them with papertowels.

We usually unpack most of our thing, and hang up as many shirts as we have hangers for. It's just easier than looking through a suitcase to me. We bring along trash bags or a pop up hamper for dirty clothes.

I always look at those drawers and think, do people actually use those?

Im a suitcase girl, I'll hang up some stuff but thats about it.

I unpack. It seems more organized to me. I also put dryer sheets in the drawers. It's suppose to keep bugs away, or that's what I read somewhere. Whether its true, who knows.:confused3 I also have collapsible hampers for my clothes. I use the empty bags for souvenirs until it's time to go. Then they get transferred to the souvenir suitcase, which was previously holding snacks and maid gifts.

I unpack--for me, my DS, and my DH. I pack for all of us, too. Type A personality, can't help it. :rolleyes1 Since there are three of us, I use one suitcase for the "white things", one for the "colors", and my DS's suitcase for any clean clothes we did not wear on the trip. Makes laundry at home a bit easier because I don't have to sort the clothes. :laundy:

For longer stays .... 4 or more nights, we unpack. For our 3 nighters, If it needs to be hung up..... it is. Otherwise we live out of the suitcases. :thumbsup2

I had absolutely no idea that people actually took their clothes out of their suitcase and put them in the drawers. I'm amazed. I thought the drawers were just there for appearances. :lmao: The only thing we use them for is tossing snacks and electronic chargers and various odds and ends into.

Unless I was just staying one or maybe two nights, I can't imagine NOT unpacking! :scared1:

I like to really settle in and make myself feel as much at home as possible. I hate digging through a suitcase to find stuff.

Okay, it gives me the chills to think of NOT inpacking. even if it's an overnight, I still unpack. I can't stand to live out of a suitcase. Hubby thinks I'm insane.

As for cleaning out the drawers... well... is it bad that I've never even thought of it??

I'm the opposite of most of you - I live out of the suitcase, but put the dirty clothes in the drawer. :rotfl:
