Unpack or live out of suitcases????

Sort of between the 2. I use packing Cubes, so all I have to do is take the cube from the suitcase & put it in a drawer. I guess you could say I live out of my cubes :)

I inspect the drawers, wipe them out and then unpack. Last year I even brought kid sized hangers w me to hang my DD's clothes. I hang as much as I can and then fold in the drawers. The luggage gets put out of the way until we pack to go home. I could not live out of a suitcase, esp w 5 people.

I always look at those drawers and think, do people actually use those?

Im a suitcase girl, I'll hang up some stuff but thats about it.

I totally agree with this. I didn't know anyone used the drawers. It's just kind of icky-- who knows who used them last? Then again I lie on the comforter and walk around barefoot without thinking about the germs, so I'm not too consistent :rotfl:

When we were at the GF for a full week for our honeymoon, I ended up using a drawer for laundry, but I wouldn't have considered putting clean clothes in there.

I'm the opposite of most of you - I live out of the suitcase, but put the dirty clothes in the drawer. :rotfl:

YUCK!!!! Glad I wipe out those drawers!!! LOL

And the first call we make is to housekeeping for clean comforters ~ the ones on the bed go on thefloor immediately because, no matter what Disney tells us, the comforters are not changed between guests.:sad2:

We unpack. I never noticed the drawers looking dirty. We also use the suitcases for dirty clothes. I also leave a thing or 2 in the suitcases that I don't think we'll be needing/wearing. And then we triple check all drawers before we leave!

I have to unpack. My suitcase is usually way too full to keep it all in there. Plus I like being able to hide it in the closet. There's something about a suitcase just sitting out in the open that bugs me.

That's just how I feel:thumbsup2 We always unpack and put the suitcases in the closet. I don't want a constant reminder that the magic will have to end:wizard:

I didn't read all the posts, but I put each persons undies in ziplock and their socks in another. This is great for airline security as well. No one touching our undies unnecessarily:rotfl: That is creepy. Each person gets a drawer-if we are one short, I put dd's clothes in with mine. I bring a pop up hamper also, and its great. About 2 days before we leave I go wash everything. Makes the repacking easier. I also bring one empty suitcase for souvies and the dirty clothes in a laundry bag. I too am the packer/unpacker for me and the fam (Dh packs his, but I unpack it) so he takes the kids to the pool, or looking at the hotel while I unpack. We also ship out a box of food and snax, so I unpack all that. then I can relax and be on vacation. I feel rushed if I am trying to rifle through a suitcase for over a week.

wow-just talking about unpacking makes me vacation hungry:rotfl:

We unpack as soon as we hit the room, hate living out of the suitcases. I never really paid attention to the draweres being dirty. now one more thing for me to look for in addition to checking the bedding, etc. I do hang most of our things and stick in extra hangers so we have enought.

I unpack everything because I can't stand to live out of a suitcase. I like to have my clothes hung up and in the drawers and then put my dirty clothes in a bag inside my suitcases. This past weekend my DH and I went to a local casino about 90 minutes away and stayed overnight for just one night and I still unpacked all of our clothes and toiletries, lol.

We do a little of both, I hang up some of my clothes ( I always end up ironing anyway) DS lives out of suitcase as does DH. My DD moves in and unpacks everything. We are quite the mixed bag ;) of people.

I have been debating the same thing for our first family trip. I have gotten so many helpful ideas here on the boards.

I have decided to prepack each day's outfit in a big ziplock bag and label for the kids the day to be worn and then place it in the drawers. Once clothing is used, put back in bag, sqeeze out air and zip to suitcase. This way it should save time in the morning when dressing and keep things semi-organized! Best laid plans of course.

Counting down - 33 days until we see the Poly! Hopefully we will have enough drawers for the 5 of us.

This is just what I do. I have a large ziplick labled for each day, and in it are all 4 kids clothes for the day, including underwear and socks. It is so easy each morning to pull one bag out of the drawers with everything in it. I also use the empty suitcases for laundry, but I do fold any clothes that aren't too soiled in case I need to reuse, say a pair of shorts, for the kids if they get their new one dirty and need to be changed.

Back to the comforter comment - we also throw the comforter on the floor as soon as we arrive at ANY hotel.

I never thought to ask for a clean one - are there usually clean ones available? I wouldn't mind making the bed up myself if I could just get clean ones!

We ALWAYS unpack. I bring platic bags and line the draws then we place our clothing, etc. in the draws. We usually have a draw/or two for snacks, plastic spoons, straws, etc.

We always put our clothes right in the drawers. No cleaning or lining for us.

We also like to live dangerously by using the hotel bedspreads and walking barefoot on the carpet. :rotfl:
