We always live out of suitcases when we are on vacation. I hate trying to find everything every day. So for those of you who unpack, what do you put down in the drawers (if anything) before you put your clothes in...Who all unpacks???

I always unpack, because I HATE living out of a suitcase and trying to keep everything straight. I don't put anything in the drawers. If they looked dirty, I wouldn't use them, of course. My husband, on the other hand, NEVER unpacks.

We use to always unpack until one year we forgot to pack our clothes when we left. We had to call the contemporary and they mailed our clothes back for free which I thought was nice. From then on we stopped unpacking, but this last trip I did unpack. It was just easier. I got tired of digging around in the suitcases.

We unpack. The suitcase is for dirty clothes and souvenirs, until the day we leave.

I always unpack it makes it homey. I have used wipes on the inside of the drawers but ususally they are clean. I also bring something to sit on the dresser to make if feel more like home.

Didn't you notice the suitcases were a little empty. I bet that was a little embarassing.:rotfl:

Unpack by all means. Leave the tops of the empty suitcases open, and use them for dirty laundry each day.

I leave my clothes packed unless it is something nice I am wearing for a special occassion and then I hang it or what have you. I put dirty laundry in a popup hamper and usually wash and dry it before we leave or leave it in the hamper...we drive.

If I am staying at least 3 nights, I unpack. I like to use everything the room has to offer, including the drawers! :)

I always unpack. I usually do it all just to keep it simple since I'm the one who packed and knows where everything is. For my hubby I just put his stuff on the bed so he can organize it as he wants...
I assign the bottom drawers to the kids, middle to me and top to hubby. I pack a few containers to put in the bathroom to sort the tolitries (we travel heavy with anything and everything we may need like vitamins, excedrin, first aid stuff, lotions, etc..). I have our unpacking down and can ususally have it all done easily with-in 30 mins.

For me this makes the rest of the trip soooo much easier. If it is just me for one night for work I'll live out of the suitcase but otherwise I have to unpack.

DW and I unpack - but keep DD(6) 's stuff in suitcase. If we gave her the choice of what to wear each morning we'd never make it to the parks !

The only time I've ever unpacked was when we went on a 12 day cruise. We usually don't stay long enough to unpack, but this time we are going to do a 13 day split stay at WDW. I would probably unpack, but I don't think I want to do that since we will be changing resorts in the middle.

We live out of suitcases. I don't like fully unpacking b/c I think it's a security risk and I might forget something in a drawer. I keep everything packed even nightclothes and toiletries then put them all in a closet or away from where a mousekeeper would be working. Besides, if you put everything in drawers there's more of a chance someone will rifle through your stuff. I like to think there's less temptation if everything's all packed up and put together out of the way. Plus, if something's moved I'll know about it. I have OCD so if the slightest thing is moved it drives me nuts and I realize it right away. At least my OCD comes in handy for something other than driving my DH nuts. :lmao:

We unpack everything. Find it much easier on a long trip. We use the suitcases for our "worn" clothing each night when we return to the room.

I always unpack and organize everything. Dirty clothes go into the suitcase until it is time to pack to go home. Since we use the drawers, I just have DH check each drawer one last time before we leave the room to be sure we haven't forgotten anything.
It is so much easier to have everything put away and organized.

If it was left to me, I'd live out of a suitcase. But my wife is the packer/un-packer and she prefers putting things in drawers & hanging stuff in closets so that's what we do.

I have to unpack. My suitcase is usually way too full to keep it all in there. Plus I like being able to hide it in the closet. There's something about a suitcase just sitting out in the open that bugs me.

I always unpack for a trip over 5 days or so. If I don't I feel like I'm leaving soon and I hate that feeling! So I do all the unpacking. Last year all the clothes went in the drawers except for the very few things that might have wrinkled (mostly we had shorts and Ts). Underwear/socks were in drawers too. It worked out just fine and we had plenty of room. Dirty clothes go in the suitcases.
