1. Why do own the resorts that you own?
Can't resist beating the brushes on that one, eh? I don't think I want this thread locked, thank you. I'll pass.
2. Are you as happy today with your membership, as the day that you signed?
I'm currently torn between my timeshares. We have Marriott and
DVC. We got DVC to add on 5 day stays to our usual one week Marriott trips. We had discovered the joy of two weeks in Orlando and AP's two years ago. But with only 4 weeks and a desire to go elsewhere, it would break the bank to go May and October.
Now having stayed at both it's a running contest which is better. My dad really likes the Marriott resorts. He's discovered quiet pools there and enjoys a late start (i.e. afternoon) to his Disney days. None of the Marriott pools are zero entry so I can't use them. Means I end up stuck in the room waiting for him to finish. I figured with Disney I could leave him to lounge and head off to a park meeting up later.
I don't really care which DVC I'm at. It's an offsite vs. onsite question for me. This year we're splitting both our May & october trips. Next year I'm thinking we'll do Marriott in April and Disney in october. See how that goes.
I don't want to fall in love with one exclusively.
3. How often do you and your family try to visit the Mouse?
Can we live there?
Used to be one fast-paced commando week in March with my siblings and their kids. Then we discovered APs, May and October. So our current goal is 2 trips 12-14 days each. We're trying a short New Year's weekend trip this year as well, just to see if we like that.
My siblings are down to one week every couple years. I've been to the park more in the last 18 months than they've ever been. I keep forgetting they don't know all the nooks and crannies. EE, Nemo, Nemo Musical, Car Stunt Show, Soarin', all are new to them.
4. What is somebody from the Midwest supposed to do in this state if he does not Crab (or any seafood for that matter)? Every place I go serves a lot of seafood in this area.
Fried chicken and steak baby! And don't forget the corn from those roadside stands. Yum!
Funny thing is I love crabs but I only eat them a few times a year. Mostly summer. The rest of the time it's the usual: chicken, fish, beef. Oh and fresh watermelon, potato salad and brownies are a must for those summer picnics.
Of course where I live the Asian cuisine is taking over. Or you can go with my sister's stable: pizza. Throw a stick and you can't help but find a pizza place somewhere.
