Now that I'm officially less than two weeks from my vacation I've started packing lists in my head. Clothes are easy: tshirts, a pair or two of jeans, capris, shorts, a sweatshirt, dinner dresses, etc. Here's where I need some advice. What do you pack in your survival kit? Here's what I plan on packing. Keep in mind I suffer from Celiac disease and unfortunately I got exposed to gluten recently so as of right now I am not feeling well at all. Sigh, I hope it passes before vacation...... List: aspirin, mini first aid kit, Zantac, Imodium, sunscreen, Tum Tum Tum Tum tums, eye drops, Afrin. Anything I missed that you advise please let me know. I'd rather be over prepared than under prepared! I'm soooo excited but now I'm nervous my stomach will be a jerk and ruin my vacation that I've been looking forward to since September. I'll just pray hard for my body to heal quickly.*:grouphug:

Oh and on another note, uhm I'm terrified of flying. It gives me horrible anxiety. My flight is at 6 AM just to get it over with. Any advice on how to calm my nerves? I used to take Ativan but it gives me headaches so I'm going without the aid of medication. I need natural techniques! Usually once I'm up in the air I'm fine it's just the anticipation of waiting that gets to me. Lol thanks mom for giving me the anxiety gene and the bad stomach gene :upsidedow

I also have a fear of flying... Mostly mine stems from claustrophobia and a fear of heights... The thing that helps me a lot - do a Google search for 'fear of flying' and 'flying anxiety'... there are TONS of helpful websites and ideas... Thanks to a bit of research, I am OK with flying (with out even being medicated)... We even did a 9 hour flight to Europe last year and I was fine. It really has a lot to do with learning how to calm yourself and put yourself in another location... I really have to tell myself that I am not on an airplane, and I am not in the air... I pretend I am somewhere else... Usually, once we are off the ground - I actually enjoy the fact that I am flying and my girls and I spend our time looking out the windows trying to read the water towers and figure out where we are. LOL

Just decided last week to tag along with DD and her family during Spring Break. With only 3 weeks to plan, was totally surprised when I was able to get dining reservations for myself and other DD at the places and times we hoped for! :cool1:

Monday, March 12th: DD, stnet, was able to add us to their San Angel Inn reservations;
Tuesday, March 13th: DD and I will dine at the Sci-Fi;
Wednesday, March 14th: DD and I will be enjoying our first visit to Coral Reef;
Thursday, March 15th: added to stnet's reservations at one of our favorites~Liberty Tree Tavern; and on
Saturday, March 17th: I'll be enjoying my favorite breakfast of Pineapple-Macadamia Pancakes at Kona before heading back to Texas. :yay:

Looking forward to surprising DGD's when they arrive at AKV-Kidani! Their aunt and I will be waiting for them in the lobby with hugs and a big "SURPRISE"! :tink:

Yikes I don't know how you all post so much LOL I can't keep up.

sheila - soooo sorry for your lost.

hunclemarco- We LOVE Earl of sandwich!

2crazy4disney- we are staying the exact time as you, are you staying at pop again this time. This will be our first time at pop and we are excited. I know some complain about the buses taking long but we are optimistic about it and are staying positive :) As for the weather we have gone feb and march and it can vary. I thought it was chilly in mornings ( sweatshirt or light jacket) and then sometimes even chilly in shade some day. Then we have had it be so hot in that same week that we left park to go swimming and cool off. Since your driving ( we are too) I recommend packing for both or if in your budget buying a disney themed hoodie when you arrive. Disney store has them on clearance right now too!

To do list:
*Took car in today for over all so we dont have any issues driving down.
* Need to go grocery shopping right before for snacks and light meals while on the roat
* finish packing
* clean out car
* Get kids school work this week so they aren't behind ( as their missing school for this trip)
* Go get pedi as I anticipate flip flop weather :)
* Program gps and install Mickey voice :mickeyjum
* pack and gas up car and goo

PrincessPigletsmom- You scare me! LOL I havent even started packing or anything!! I did get shorts and t-shirts bought. I plan to spend all next week packing. We leave march 2nd! I figure our first night, we will go downtown. Our plane lands at 2, so we wont have much time to do a park.

I Like to bring Mole Skin in case you feel a blister forming. Hopefully your stomach feels better by the time you go on your trip.:thumbsup2

So I decided today that we'll go ahead and let DD have her birthday party before the trip. I'm off every other Friday and that falls on the 2nd. I didn't want her to have to wait until mid April so now I've added in planning and throwing a slumber party to the list of things I need to do in the next 3 weeks.

We're going to do it as simple as possible while still being a big deal to DD since she won't find out about the Disney trip until the week after the party.

Now I just need to quit changing my plans for Disney and focus on this party. And get DD to narrow down the guest list quickly. She's so afraid of hurting anyone's feelings that she has 16 girls on her list. I would be nuts to have that many at a sleepover!

I am right there with you! I haven't even thought about packing........I guess I better get to packing. We also arrive on the 2nd........my daughter turns 11 on the 2nd and she requested to eat at Kouzzina by Cat Cora. I have ordered her an amazing cake (thanks to Yoli.....the pastry chef). She wants to hang on the Boardwalk..... :-)

See you around! I am jealous at how many trips some of you have been on. We have planned this trip twice before but I kept getting pregnant and didnt want to travel pregnant. So now, all 5 of us, are disney virgins :) My kids have been counting down for a year now.

16 More Days till Im singing with the Tiki Birds!! :yay::woohoo::dance3::banana:

Huzzah! :woohoo: So how are you going to pass the time?

Sixteen?? :scared1: Wow, my DD doesn't even like 16 girls at her school. :lmao:

If you decide to brave 16 girls at the party, let us all know how it turns out. :lmao: They allow email at the looney bin, right? :confused3

We leave on the 2nd (arrive on the 3rd), and I've yet to even shop for supplies, let alone, pack. :eek: So I'm right there with you ... Everytime I think about packing, I think about the pile of homework I need to do .... and homework always wins. Worst case, I pack on the 2nd after my class, since I won't have any homework in it (since it's a test that day). :sad2:

You guys are going to have a blast! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures! How are you guys going to pass the remaining time? :goodvibes

I have not started any packing but I did have DD try on her summer clothes from last year to make sure she had enough stuff to take with us. And I have several lists of things I need to do over the next few weeks. I probably won't pack until the weekend before we leave.

I think taking kids for their first trip ever is so exciting! I will never forget DD on her first trip. She was four and was just in awe of everything. That was one of my favorite trips ever. I hope you guys have a great trip!

I told DD this morning that she needed to think about it at school today and cut 5 girls from the list. She feels like she has to invite all the girls in her class and I told her she doesn't. She should only invite the ones that she actually wants to invite.

Thanks everyone! I am most excited for my 4 year old, he is the most excited and the most into it. My 8 year old is tall enough to ride the roller coasters so I cant wait, because my husband doesnt ride rides, so he will be my riding buddy. My daughter is still little, but she is newly realizing who the princesses are and tinkerbell, so I cant wait til she sees them. I dont think she will be getting close to any characters though.

Those are all great ages for different reasons. DD is 8 and she loves all the rides especially the thrill rides. But she loves the characters and princesses and just being there. I'm sure she doesn't truly "believe" anymore, but she sure does act like she does.

At 4 she totally believed it all and was just in awe of everything there. It was so much fun to watch her experience it all and just to see the look on her face everyday. I remember when we came home she talking about Cinderella's garage and we couldn't figure out what she was talking about. Finally we figured out she was talking about the monorail station at MK. She rode everything she was tall enough for and loved it. She loved the characters and getting autographs and pin trading. She just loved everything.

DS was about 16 1/2 months old on our last trip, so a little younger than your youngest but close. He was already a big fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Pluto was his favorite. His face lit up when he saw Mickey and Pluto the first time. He wasn't scared at all and wanted to touch them and smiled and just loved them. Now he didn't really care for the face characters. He didn't get upset, he just didn't really even acknowledge them and the step sisters at 1900 park fare tried their best! But he did good on the rides. Most he didn't really care one way or the other but he loved the Buzz Lightyear ride and my mom took him on that a bunch of times while DD and I rode Space MOuntain a few times.

You guys will have so much fun!
