UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

Hi! We'll be there 3-4 through 3-10 and are staying at CSR. So excited! March 14th is my birthday too! It looks like there are a lot of us with the same birthday. I guess I'll be celebrating early too. At this point, our ADRs are:

3/4-Dinner 1900 PF
3/5-Dinner Chef Mickey's
3/6-Dinner Boma
3/7-Dinner O'hana
3/8-Dinner Crystal Palace
3/9-Dinner Akershus

I'm debating 1900 PF because I have a DS and a DD. I don't want to go overboard on the princesses. If only they had a character meal with pirates or the cast of Peter Pan they would both be in heaven.pirate:

Hello fellow Tennesseean! :goodvibes We almost have the same dates (March 4-9)!

Happy early birthday! What a great way to celebrate!!!

We have 1900 PF booked (on a different day) and I have a DS5 who will be enjoying it (along with DD10). I think its great for the boys -- they get attention, too! Granted, I can't speak about 1900 PF from experience, but we did Akershus and the Princesses loved seeing DS! (He was shy back then, so they really played on that! Now he flirts with the girls. :lmao:) And who knows, maybe Prince Charming will come along and give your DS some guy-time. :thumbsup2 So if you're taking votes, I think you should keep it. However, you know your family the best! ;)

But yes, I agree ... I'd love to see a Peter Pan or pirate (something definitely boyish) meal! It's all Princesses and neutral characters. The boys need their own meal to focus on. :cool1:

That's good news that they make it fun for the boys too. I think I'll keep PF then. Where are you in TN? We're in Spring Hill (Nashville area).

Glad to hear you're keeping PF!

We're south of Knoxville (about 15-20 minutes south). I used to have family in Smyrna and Mt. Juliet -- which are both north of you. :goodvibes I think you're pretty close to just east of me ... but I'm horrid with directions. :headache:

One great thing about Disney is they make meals fun for the whole family! I'd totally book a character meal for myself (no kids). I love how the characters even paid attention to us adults in previous dining experiences. :cloud9: I think out of all the character meals I have booked, 1900 PF is the one I most look forward to!

:welcome: to the thread! It looks like both of us will be celebrateing our Birthdays a few days early.

Added you to the travelers list and added your ADRs too! DH and I will be going to mostly Character Breakfasts even though it is just the two of us. Everyones a kid at Disney Right? ;)

I do agree that the Character meals are a bit one-sided more aimed at girls it seems, back in the day there was an Aladdin Breakfast at MGM that my boys enjoyed, more than when I dragged them to CRT which was then King Stephens Banquet, the only other ones I remember were Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace there are so many now.

Hopefully when they open the Villians restaurant (I haven't read the Fantacy land expansion thread in so long - is that still happening?) - it will be catered more towards boys.

It has been ages since I read anything concerning the explansion myself, might have to do some reading up on it again. Even DH use to like going to the Aladdin Breakfast, he was a fan of Jafar and for my DH to interact with a character, which he did there is saying a lot :rotfl:

Villian restaurant?? Now I'm intrigued! I hadn't heard anything about it ... but its right up MY alley. :lmao: I haven't read anything on Fantasyland since around the time WDW closed Toontown. About a month after that, I hadn't heard anything else about it. :sad2:

I'd be down for an Aladdin breakfast ... but that was before my first trip to WDW. :lmao: Sadly, my kids, while they know the characters, wouldn't be as into it. :confused3 Maybe one day it will come back. (At least we can hope, right? :confused3 )

There is a big thread... Here (well, part II anyways) :

Oooh - so according to the first post in this thread...
it looks like the first portion of the Fantasy Land expansion (Dumbo, and possibly Great Goofini coaster, Fantasyland Train Station, Casey Jr. will be OPEN when we are there!!!   This makes me very, very happy!!!

The restaurant I was talking about (Be Our Guest) is slated to open late 2012. The restaurant is supposed to be located inside Beast's castle... I am super excited about this! There is a link on the first page of the above thread that shows pictures of the building of the castle.

Thanks for the link! I'll totally check it out today! :goodvibes

I was thinking the new Dumbo would be open around that time ... but wasn't 100% certain. However, I didn't know there was a chance Goofini could be open at all! That makes me excited! I may be able to get DS on it!!! I'll have to read up on what Casey Jr. is though. :confused3 I've really not followed any information. I read a blog that said new stuff is happening, and that's all I knew. :lmao::lmao:

Stinks that Villian's restaurant won't be open ... but ... that means next trip it will!:banana::banana: And another reason to go back! :thumbsup2

I was just checking out the various articles and that same thread yesterday after I became a lil bummed out over the fact that SWSA would be closing in Feb permanately. While I am happy part of the Expansion will be up and running when we go in March(hopefully) I still hate the thought of all those walls all over, so much so I have been thinking maybe I want to hold off going.:confused3 I have not been over to MK since 2006 and then that time only went to Main St. My last visit in 2009 we missed going to MK so my last real vsit to MK was back in 1997 and I just hate the thought of all that construction going on while I am there.

We went in May of this year (so there was construction going on), and it really didn't phase us. We tried to get some pictures of what was visible over the wall (the new castle). But the walls and noise never phased us. Honestly, we probably wouldn't have noticed if we weren't looking for it.

Granted, that was May -- and that was our experience. Picture below.

If you're unsure, ask around a bit before your trip. Things can change so quickly, so what may have been distracting now may be finished by the time your trip approaches. :goodvibes

Honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing MK. It's nice to see how it's changed over the year. Plus, we have reasons to go back again to see the rest of the FL expansion. :thumbsup2

I hope that you can get excited about the changes and have a great MK experience!

Your right I need to think more positively and not focus on the negative aspects, I know I am going to want to go back in 2013 just not sure how to convince DH :rotfl: We use to go almost every year back when we did so as a family. This will be our first trip since the passing of our DS :littleangel: so it is going to be hard. We continued to travel with our grown boys this will be our first trip alone(just the two of us)

I'm a March 2012'er. Just booked WL standard view w/free dining for March 25th-29th. Going to be a very special trip as my fiance and I are bringing our leader dog puppy that we're raising to Disney for her first trip! so excited to get some pictures of her in front of the castle! :woohoo:

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Perhaps you can start a tradition in honor of your late DS at WDW? :goodvibes Plus, you can take pictures for him. :cloud9: There's lots you can do in memory of him to make your visit extra, extra special.
