Unofficial Guide rating for August crowds?

Anyone that owns the UG to Disney have the rating for crowds in August? We have to change our dates from June to second week of August. Am I nuts? We have never been during this time, but we are from the midwest so used to heat and humidity-well maybe not as much as Florida, but some.

I think you'll be fine. We've gone a few times at the end of August and had a great time. Yes, it's hot, but the crowds are not as bad and there are so many things that are air-conditioned.

If the weather forecast is really hot for any particular day, I would avoid Aminal Kingdom on that day. It always seems hotter at that park for some reason.

We were in Orlando the seond week of August in 2004. I didn't think the crowds were too bad, and we lucked out with some pretty temperate weather, so we had a good trip. Of course, the FRI of our trip was the hurricane (Charley) so the parks were probably less crowded, and MK closed about 1 or 2.

We followed the UG's schedule, and we had very short waits for rides. The only problem was that my kids didn't like following a schedule. I couldn't explain to them how long the waits would have been (they just didn't get it)

Either way, I think the crowds do reduce from even the first week to the second week of August. I would totally go back at that time again
