Unofficial Guide Attendance Ratings???

I thought the same thing ... the Unofficial Guide's attendance charts don't seem to track with what I've read here and in my PassPorter. I wonder why!

I noticed the same thing. I've only been to WDW twice before: a week in August (never again), and the first week of December (a wonderful time). We are now going in January and I thought it was going to be even more uncrowded than in December but according to the Unofficial Guide, it is 2 points higher than that week in December. In fact, the whole month of January is 2 points higher than December (excluding, of course, the high holiday days).

I also noticed that in December, MK seems to be open later on the weekends than in January. Wouldn't that tell you something? Of course, the Jan hours aren't out yet so I'm just going by 2004's hours.

Oh well, either way, the Unofficial Guide is THE best WDW book out there.

I've always thought that Len Testa was male, but with this talk about it (especially his endorsement), I'm now starting to question it! ;)

I've been in late January a few times and in early Feb once and the crowd levels have been low each time. My last Feb visit was 2004, but it was 2002 since my last late Jan visit.

Hopefully the crowds haven't changed since I'm going for a short trip this January.

Can anyone confirm?

Ok, now I am confused about the "Attendance Level Ratings". I looked at the book on Amazon.com. So, I was not able to see the actual charts. I see people on this thread talking about January as a "4" and that it is 2 points higher than December and that they are concerned about the crowds.

My question is 4 out of what??? If January is a 4 out of 10, then I am not as concerned if January is a 4 out of 5.

I chose January because EVERY guide book and website says that January is one of the least crowded times of the year.

Am I wrong???

My copy of the 2005 UOG is still on the way.

Have Fun,

Hi Len!
You're my HERO! I LOVE the UOG - it's the best! I've gone to bed with it every night for months! (My husband is getting a bit jealous!) And I didn't know about the gender either, but I didn't care! It is the most comprehensive, most informative guide out there - and I have 5 different WDW guide books. Thanks for the great work! By the way, I ordered a couple of touring plans a few months back, and someone named Linda was a great help. Kudos to you and yours.

Hi Bruce,

Speaking for myself, I guess I just want to make sure I'm going to WDW at the time when there are the least amount of people. So, when I see that the Unofficial Guide (the BEST WDW book out there) is saying that January isn't a "1" month (the least crowded) then I worry that I'll have to fight the crowds. I know I really don't have to worry...at least it's not the summer!! lol.

I purchase the UG every year....I haven't been able to put this one (2005) down. There have been lots of new additions this year...and I haven't even gotten very far yet!!! It even has me thinking about moving my trip in 2005!!! I really like the added attendance charts!!
