I was just on the DVC board and noticed that some DISers are refering to the Unofficial Guide rating WDW park attendance in terms of "8, 9, 10, etc." They also mention that these ratings indicate things like "100 minute wait for headliners" "45 minute waits for major attractions, etc."

I have the 2004 UG. Where are these ratings listed? Is the 2005 guide out already? Is that what I need?

TIA
Kelley

Yes, you do need the 2005 edition. There is a new chart with attendance levels and best park to visit each day. It is a wonderful addition!

If you can spare the time I'd love to know about these particular dates. Thank you in advance! :)

You should get 2005 Unofficial Guide! It has lots of new stuff that is extremely helpful.......I've bought it religiously since 1999, and this is the first one that has changed radically. You need it!

would love the week of 2/4/05-2/11/05. But, the last poster is correct, one should not expect pirated info.

If you have a chance :) I know it is Jersey week from reading the boards.... But I have found Yankees are pretty good folk ;)

I know you are getting bombarded with request but could you check 2/15-2/26. This will be our first trip in Feb and part of our stay is Presidents week. TIA

This is a new one for me...I've never even heard of this!:earseek: Where can I find this guide?

While you're at it, can someone tell me about the dates 11/21-11/24??

Thanks!!:earsboy:

Do the ratings vary significantly from those of say three or four years previous?

I do not mean specific month and day, but rather relative to a key date such as Monday After Thanksgiving.

You May Need To Order New Checks Now.
Starting next month, many banks will be returning photocopies of cancelled checks rather than the checks themselves. If you get unreadable photocopies back, you may be unable to prove you paid a bill or paid a debt. Often checks with Disney characters or other pictures on them, or checks purchased at discount prices, don't photocopy well. (If the copies are perfectly readable but not of good quality, a bank may have to ante up a duplicate payment in case a dispute arises as to payment.)

I'd recommend everyone go buy the 2005 edition of the Unofficial Guide. It's a great value--it has TONS of information. You can read it cover to cover and walk away feeling like an expert.

Your local library may have it. Or if you aren't sure you want to purchase it, you can always go to the bookstore and thumb through it to see what you think. You could probably find crowd info on the dates in question while you were there.

I hate to sound like a pain, but I don't think it's cool to post that kind of info directly from the book. The tables and charts are a large part of what gives it value, and the folks who create the guide for a living deserve to benefit from their labor. :D

What's the complete name of the book? Can you buy it online?

The complete name is The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2005 by Bob Sehlinger.
You will be able to find it anywhere you can buy books on-line.

I agree with Laralynn on this. And LenTesta can attest to the hard work that is done for the Unofficial Guide. He is a major contributor to that book and is also a regular poster on the DIS. :)

keep in mind the chart doesn't factor in unforseen variables like hurricane reschedulings - last week is listed as all 2's and it sounds like the parks were much busier than that. that may be the case to some extent in november and december too.

And all this time I thought LenTesta was a girl:tongue: . I learn so much from the disboards. :teeth:

New in the 2005 edition are little snipets called "A Peek Behind the Scenes with Jim Hill." They are awesome. They just give some inside info about the attractions that you may not have known, but they are very entertaining. I buy the Unofficial Guide every year, but the addition of the crowd ratings and these behind the scenes peeks have me re-reading it from cover to cover this year.
