Unofficial Guide 2006 just in!

Just wanted to share that my 2006 unofficial guide came in the post from Amazon this morning, so anyone that pre-ordered one should expect a knock on the door anytime now I'm so excited (I know I'm sad). Anyway, off to have a good read,

My last Unofficial Guide is dated 1995! and I have a Brit Guide dated 2002. Now i have booked my 4th trip for 2006 do you think that the new 2006 unofficial guide will be much different? do you buy this every year/every trip? Play.com offer same and free delivery if anybody is interested. How about the "beyond Disney" book is it worth getting that too? I could buy every book and watch every dvd about orlando

I've ordered mine too from Amazon and they've given me a delivery date of 28/29 September Oh well, we leave on the 1st so hopefully it will arrive by then

There is indeed one for Disneyland in California. A lot of the content is the same as the WDW version but it is definitely worth getting for the touring plans, hotel reviews etc.

I'd be intersted in knowing how different it is to previous year's; I have 2001, 2003 & 2005 so would normally give it a miss until 2007 (can you see a trend, here? ) but would buy if much has been updated?

Sorry for the wait guys. Well, I managed to read the thing in 2 days and the verdict is:
Yes, there is a lot of stuff from last years but there is some new stuff too. The tours have been updated but if you were after these, you could always subscribe to touringplans.com.
The reviews and hotel details seem more up to date.

I'm glad I bought it even though i still have the 2005 version as I like to have the most up to date info at my fingertips. However, maybe waiting for the 2007 edition may be better for others who may feel it is too much of a duplicate. I did spot it on the shelf at Ottakers bookshop, if anyone wants to have a look themselves.

How does it compare to the Brit's Guide (which is my bible)?

Everybody has their favourite Orlando guides and I think I've read them all over the years.

Unofficial Guide is the one guidebook that has really given me the most help in planning my trips (touring plans etc are excellent) and is the only one I've bought on more than one occassion. I sell holidays for a living and tell anyone planning a WDW to buy it (I should be on commission from them).

Brit's Guide was ok but I didn't really get anything from it that I didn't already know.

That's just my preference. There's only one way for you to find out though

Just ordered mine from the US amazan site $12 plus a few other things well when you are paying postage you might as well

any way it is my first christmas present got
Its for Hubby , you have to keep the pressure on
but I m sure I will have a quick look beforre he gets it

We are thinking of going this time next yea,r as one of my sons is doing his exams this year so no taking him out of school this time
