Another fan of the Unofficial Guide. As for tone, I appreciate candor and objectivity. No matter how you slice it, Disney is expensive, and I want opinions on the best places to spend my money.

Although the UG is known more for its touring plans than anything, most of its tips are actually geared towards enjoying a more moderate pace by getting to the parks early and riding the rides which develop longer waits later in the day.

If the guides hadtheme songs, I think the Unofficial Guide's would be "A Pirate's Life For Me."

I get the official and unofficial guide. This way I can be practical, and still plan for a lot of magic! Both have alot of useful info.

I loved this book. I am a nurse and want research based information. This book is chock full of it. We went to
the park during Jersey week 2003 so the parks weren't to crowded but I loved knowing
which rides were going to build up lines quickly and I used the pull out tour plans at each park. I also used the parade and firework viewing tips and always had great seats. How would you know this stuff if you didn't research before your went.

After reading many WDW travel books, the Unofficial Guide is by far the most comprehensive planning guide available. It is a must read for anyone considering a WDW vacation. I have checked out the 2004 edition at my local public library, and will bring it with on our trip.

This indispensible book provides relevant, timely and accurate information, as well as practical suggestions and knowledgeable advice from both a reviewer's and visitor's perspective.

I found the Unofficial Guide most helpful because of its thorough park rating system, meticulous hotel and dining profiles, helpful visitor comments and efficient touring plans.

By comparison, Frommer's outdated guidebook comes across as being overly objective and rather obscure. Even the most recent edition inexplicably continues to offer useless recommendations concerning attractions and events that even the most unseasoned traveler knows have closed long ago (i.e. River Country, Alien Encounter, Discovery Island Wildlife Sanctuary).

I buy all three guide books every year (UOG, Birnbaum's and the Passporter) and I use the DIS, Allears and WDW sites for information. It's worth it to me to buy all because we go to Orlando every year. Each reference has something different and they are all valuable at the same time.

-For an in depth look at Orlando and WDW and WDW the UOG is the best.
-For Disney Cruises and WDW then the Passporter is the best. For tips and reader reviews on WDW and Orlando then the UOG is the best. -For a quick reference guid to WDW and color photos then Birnbaum's is the best.
-For a mega planner and keepsake the Passporter is the best.
-For WDW resorts the Passporter and UOG are the best.
-For children Birnbaum's by Kids is the best.

And the list goes on. This is why I buy all three.
