Unlinking tickets if party members can't make trip

Hi, I have a resort reservation in a month for myself, my wife, and two younger brothers. My wife and I have annual passes linked to our account and I will be buying 7 day tickets for my brothers. They are both about 80% sure they can attend the trip. My question is, if I buy them tickets and link them to their names so I can make Fastpass+ reservations for the four of us and then they don't make it, can I unlink their tickets and save them for my wife and I to use next year after our annual passes expire since the tickets were never used? I know I will lose the Fastpass+ reservations associated with their tickets if I am allowed to unlink them, which is fine, but I didn't know whether those tickets can only be used by my brothers on a future trip once I link them to their name. In the past when I bought my guests park tickets and they couldn't make it, I was always able to have someone else use the ticket in the future since it was unused, just wasn't sure if that's the same with the new system. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, I have a resort reservation in a month for myself, my wife, and two younger brothers.

My wife and I have annual passes linked to our account and I will be buying 7 day tickets for my brothers.

They are both about 80% sure they can attend the trip.

My question is,

if I buy them tickets and link them to their names so I can make Fastpass+ reservations for the four of us and then they don't make it,

1. can I unlink their tickets and save them for my wife and I to use next year after our annual passes expire since the tickets were never used? wer is yes.

2. I know I will lose the Fastpass+ reservations associated with their tickets

3. if I am allowed to unlink them, which is fine, but

4. I didn't know whether those tickets can only be used by my brothers on a future trip once I link them to their name.

5. In the past when I bought my guests park tickets and they couldn't make it, I was always able to have someone else use the ticket in the future since it was unused, just wasn't sure if that's the same with the new system. Thanks in advance for your help.

1. The short answer is yes. But, you don't HAVE to "unlink" them to save them.
If they are NOT USED for park entry, they will remain "fresh" until such time in the future that they are finally used.

2. Yes. For those tickets, if you have the tickets "removed" from
the MDE account(s.)

3. Go to Guest Relations and have the unused tickets "put onto" flat plastic RFID tickets for safe-keeping.

4 & 5. Anyone can use those tickets in the future.

This is great news. I thought once the tickets were linked to a name, whether used or unused, those tickets can only be used by the person they were linked to. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies and information. That makes me a little less nervous about linking the tickets. I appreciate it.

I actually just had to do this. My son & his fiance were supposed to be going with us on our trip in 3 weeks, but due to an unforseen job oportunity they can't come. I unlinked their tickets with no problem & was able to then link one of those tickets to my brother. This all happened just this week. I even got lucky & was able to copy him on all our existing fp+ reservations except for the mine train, but I called disney & after explaining my whole frustrated ruined family vacation to a sympathetic cm. she was even able to do that one for me too. pixiedust: now if only I could have gotten their airfare back. Lol.
Robo is always a fountain of information & so helpful. :goodvibes
Hope you have a great vacation op
