Universal's Chance to Shine!

It seems to me that with all this attention being thrown Universal's way, now is the time to pounce and let everyone know Universal has been reborn! In Islands of Adventure, expand Harry Potter to all of Lost Continent. Add the long rumored Jeep ride to the Jurassic Park area. Add a new kid friendly ride in Dr. Suess Land. In Universal Studios, get rid of the whole outdated kids area and that horrible Animal Actors stage show and take a page from the new Universal Singapore park that just opened and update the area to include the new Shrek Far Far Away Land (which has an amazing castle that trumps even Cinderella Castle) and Madagascar Island (which has an almost 10 minute indoor flume ride rivaling Splash Mountain). Move Shrek 4D to the new Far Far Away land and bring in Transformers to replace it right in the front of the park. I would even take Jimmy Neutron out and make that building the line for Transformers crossing above the street to the former Shrek building where the new ride should be. Create a version of the Hollywood 3D King Kong in Orlando and let it replace the Twister attraction. Take the old Murder She Wrote mystery theater, which is currently empty, and put a short version of the WICKED show from broadway in, which is exactly what they did at Universal Japan. Universal needs some good new shows! I know everything is about budgets, but most of these new rides already exist as they are in other Universal Parks around the world. Orlando should be the gold standard. Now is your chance, Universal. You can make your parks the best in the world. If money is the issue, get a private investor like Disney did for Paris. Universal Creative is on the cutting edge. Let them show Orlando what they can do! And MAKE Disney up their game!

I wouldn't get rid of the Universal play area. Have you seen the kids when they're in there? They are having a blast.

The rest are cool though even it will break my son's heart to lose the Lost Continent theming completely.

I've read that Universal's contract for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has included expansion possibilities after the last film is released in 2011! I'm excited to see what they will add in the future! I feel like they could do so much more with the section. And I agree that lost continent should get whipped out because there isn't anything left except for a good restaurant (Mythos). IMO Poseidon's fury is pointless once you've seen it already.

I'm excited to see what they will add in the future! I feel like they could do so much more with the section. And I agree that lost continent should get whipped out because there isn't anything left except for a good restaurant (Mythos). IMO Poseidon's fury is pointless once you've seen it already.

Because of the contract, I see an expansion coming for WWoHP in the near future before anything else is done. And you're right..except for Mythos there isn't anything left that's really worth saving.

I agree. I'd be disappointed if they demolished Mythos though. I wonder how they could fit it in.

I've read in various places that Universal is very limited as far as land to expand. Does anyone know exactly how much they have and if they can even create new lands there? It looks like they have some on the satellite maps but I can't really tell.

With an expansion of WWoHP they would take out the rest of the Lost Continent. There is some land off Turkey Lake Road but there's been talk of adding another resort but no one knows for sure.

I'm another Lost Continent hater (other than Mythos). To me, it's just an area to walk through to get to WWoHP with absolutely nothing that would compell me to stop along the way. Bring on more Harry! (And I'm not even really a general Harry Potter fan...WWoHP is just a great area).

In response to Planogirl's concern about the play area...I think Universal should include the water playland (Curious George area) into the new Madagascar Island part of it and have it themed to all Madagascar characters. I will post pictures of Singapore's park. It is just awesome!

I totally agree. The whole Curious George area would be great redone like Singapore.

No vortex? I see no sense in seeing Poseidon's Fury without it. The outside of the building is amazing though but I can see that it wouldn't fit in HP world. Could we at least keep the talking well?

I heard Universal is asking people in surveys about a possible waterpark onsite,eventually you know Wet N Wild will probably be removed for a new waterpark in that land by Turkey Lake rd.I know about 5 years ago I saw a Universal master plan for the empty land they currently have,they had a waterpark, like 2 new resorts with drawings of what they would look like and even some housing for International or possibly college employees.I would hope there's still some room for park expansion,I still feel bad that they sold off that land on the other side of International Drive years ago as the space they have now is obviously limited.
