purchsed special offer on internet from Universal site. buy 2 days get 3 days
free. opted by mistaket to collect the tickets when i get there with my
confirmation no and mastercard.

would have preferred to get the tickets prior to departture.

wanted to know if universal gave the Express Pass with the purchase of the above tickets as most other outlets do. after about 4 emails they never
addressed my questions but gave forwarding email address about express
pass system which it seems u purchase from the site. tried to find out if
i could cancel the order but no reply.

anyone any similar experiences and are the express passes a necessity regarding queues etc.

Margaret,

You can purchase the EP Plus for $37.00 (I think) at the parks but they are only good for the park where you buy them. The regular EP's are free to everyone. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on the EP Plus unless you want to do each and every EP attraction there. If you don't like coasters, for example, you won't to Hulk, DD or ROTM but you're paying for an EP for those rides. Just get the EP per ride..that way you haven't spent money for something you aren't going to use.

All passes even the buy 2 days get 3rd day free, can use the express pass machines. They are free just like Disney's fast pass. So all the sites advertising free express passes with purchase of tickets are just making it seem like it is something special. Just like Disney advertises passes with free fast pass. it is just a feature of the tickets.

There is an express plus pass but no ticket vendor just gives it away free with purchase of tickets. You have to buy it and it gives you front of the line for all the attractions rather than having to go get an express pass each time.

We got home last night (home is Southern CA) from 5 days in Orlando. We went to IOA on Wednesday, Apr. 13 and there were NO lines at all, except for Pteranadon Flyers. Honestly, all the rides that said there was a 10-15 minute wait, it took that long just to weave through the queue. My kids rode Hulk twice in a row and walked on both times, rode Spiderman 3-4 times, no wait, not waits for deuling dragons. It was like that all day and we never even used an EP. It was great. Thurs, we went to US and again, no wait at all, not even for Mummy or MIB. The only times we had to wait were for Shrek and Jimmy Neutron, but only because they are not continuously running. The time to go is definitely during the week as we had bought the Buy 2 Get 3 pass for US/IOA and on Saturday, we arrived at 9:45 and IOA was absolutely packed, it was a nonstop throng of people at the entrance. My husband took our younger 3 kids in and I took our oldest dd to the outlets. He said they had fun, but there were long lines for most rides. They had a great time at the playground in Jurassic Park, and my boys abosolutely LOVED that talking fountain outside of Sinbad. For boys 9 and 11, there is nothing better to do than insult a stone fountain and get blasted by water...

I'm working on a trip report for other board, but honestly, if you're going midweek this spring, I would definitely NOT purchase the FOTL passes and if there is a wait, just use the EP for those rides.
