I guess it depends on the kids if they like animals they will probable really like sea world but its a lot of shows and things and not a ton of rides and the 2 big rides they can't do.
If they like super heros Islands of Adventure at Universal is great they have more rides and areaskids can be a part of and at Universal studios they have a few shows and a few rides as well that the kids can go on and enjoy.
We went to Universal and Sea World in '08 with DD7, DS5 and
DS3. They loved Sea World alot better. They had a jungle gym type thing and they would have played for hours on that thing if we would have let them.
They were scared of the rides at Universal except Spiderman for my DS5. I think it will be a while until we go back to Universal. As an adult, I would have really enjoyed Universal if they were not scared.
I found Universal to be for thrill seekers. Your boys are too big to be interested in the little kids rides at Universal. They might like the Simpsons Ride, Men in Black etc...
I vote SeaWorld! We did SeaWorld in 2006 when our boys were 7 and 9. They loved every bit of it, feeding the dolphins, the Shamu Show, the shark area, etc... This year we are heading to Orlando again and we will go to Universal for the first time. Our boys are now 11 and 13; they want to go to SeaWorld again too!
I'd say Sea World too, especially if they are too small for the bigger type rides. You can check out both the websites to get a better idea too. Universal is fun, but more for movie fans. (lots of older movies that your kids might not know).
I had to choose for a single day we were in Orlando for our two girls who are 9 and 7. I chose US over SW and IoA. Our girls could do everything in US except then new coaster. (There are a lot more rides in Islands of Adverture which they are not tall enough to ride.) They were both tall enough for the Mummy, but decided not to try it. They loved everything else in US, especially the simulated cartoon rides. SW has very little to ride for kids in that age group - they are too short for the coasters and they are probably too old for most of the kiddie rides. This only leaves the Atlantis water flume ride and Wild Artic, which is a simulated helicopter ride over the Artic. I think our girls will really like SW as they like shows a lot, but I will save that for our next trip.
My kids 9 & 5 loved going to Sea World last summer. They enjoyed the shows and animal attractions plus enjoyed the kiddie area with rides and the climbing area. My kids are not huge thrill riders at least the older one isnt' and the younger one isn't tall enough to do the bigger thrill rides. I think SW is a safe bet for a fun day with younger ones. Plus I liked that even though it was summer and crowded the large stadiums hold so many people for shows we always could get a seat.
