We are heading out to California in August with a one to two day stop at Universal. The VIP experience looks like the way to go but the price is very steep. Has anyone done this? Did you feel it was worth the money? It seems that the Lowe's hotel offers this as one of their packages but I cannot get a price from them. Does anyone know if this is still offered or what price they were charging for the room package? I did buy the buy one day get 2014 free but Universal did let me know that I can use the tickets to upgrade to the VIP experience if I wish.
Thanks for the help in advance!

While I personally haven't been to the park in awhile, I've been on the Universal backlot and seen the tours. Imagine it being 100 degrees, and you have a choice between an open air tram or an air conditioned shuttle. If the price is right, take the air conditioning.

It's expensive but a great time.

Snacks at the start of the day, a full meal, a private tour where you can
get on and off the tram to explore, escorted access to the rides and shows.
