Universal Ticket Question

Hi! I am a total Newbie here, I've never been to Universal. My work has a special going right now, where you get a 2 day Disney ticket and a 1 day Universal ticket. We are planning on going to Disney on a Saturday/Sunday, and then to Universal, where my conference for work is (staying at the Portifinio, yea!!). If my sister, who is coming with me, gets the 1 day Universal ticket with this package, can she add a day or two later, or do these tickets not work like Disney tickets do?? Sorry for my lack of knowledge here...

She can upgrade to the 2 day ticket at the gate or Guest Services but there are only 1, 2 and 7 seven day tickets so she would have to plan accordingly.
