Does Universal have any ticket options that allow you to purchase a set of tickets similar to the one you can use over 7 days, but use a few days in August and then use the other days in December?

if you are going to do repeat trips to the park, why not get the annual pass?

The Season Pass being sold in connection with Mardi Gras for $ 99, but it expires on 12/19 (not sure if your December dates are beyond that) or the Power Pass for $ 139 (but check for blackout dates around X-Mas). If you are staying on-site for either trip the preferred AP may work, as you can also get discounts on rooms at the hotels. THese discounts are probably not yet available for your dates.
