We are DVC members and are planning to stay at Saratoga Springs for a week from Oct. 8 to Oct. 15. We want to take our kids to Universal Studios and IOA for a couple of days. I looked at the hours and it appears that every night is HHN except for Oct 9 and Oct 10. Would these be the best 2 days to go? Or does it matter? Also how crowded is it in October? We will be staying offsite, so no front of the line for us. Thanks.

during the day it usually is not crowded at all. Only at night for the HHN party... I have stayed onsite & offsite in Oct. It really didn't make a difference. On the weekends (Sat/Sun) it may be a little bit more busy but not crowded by no means....

check the website for hours
i think IOA is now closing at 7 pm and studios at 5.

hhn will be at the studios so that is why they have an earlier closing time.

i will be there that weekend.
monday will be dead in the morning until noon.
columbus day might bring out the crowds in the afternoon.
if you want to avoid that, go on tuesday oct 10. that might be a safer day to go to avoid crowds.

Opinions have differentiated on this matter, but I for one, would not go unless staying on site. It is "less crowded" in October, but there are alot of people who go for the day and stay for HHN. If you want to make the most of your day get express passes or stay onsite. It's a great experience and it will spoil you.
