ok i going to US and IOA in Sept i got 4 kids what do i do i got lodging and tickets but what do i really need to know

no im staying off site and i have 5 day tickets i bought the special one adult one child for 5 days my kids ages will be 11, 9, 8, and 6 the problem is i cant find any of the rules like taking water into the park, do they have a picnic area that we can bring our own food. and is it really rainy in september. little stuff like that.

Not that I see the relevance, but my kids are 4 and 8. We go to Universal a bit, and we never rush. How old are yours? You can see loads of pictures of them having fun in the Universal Pictures thread.

It depends on what part of september you're going. The past 2 years, hurricanes have passed through in September. So yeah, it could be rainy, and usually is during parts of the day.
We usually take a backpack and stuff it with drinks and snacks, so a cooler is going to be par for the course, something you keep full of ice and in your hotel room. They dont really have much of a picnic area, but what we usually do, besides the drinks and snacks is eat one meal at the park. On the way home we usually grab Mcd's or something of that nature. There are loads of great resturants in the Citywalk complex, all of which have great kids menus. Again, you have five days. Get to the parks early. Enjoy the parks until it gets hot, then go back to your room to chill. You can also get a re-entry stamp and go in about 2 hours or so before closing, a lot of the more popular rides tend to empty out by then. Take a camera, lots of pics. And one thing I do, we dont really buy lots of "souvenirs" but I do get the kids faces painted, they really enjoy it. And for all 4 of your kids, its cheaper than T-shirts or toys. The one cool thing I do, however, and this is at all the parks, everytime my son conquers a coaster, he gets to get a T-shirt. His first big coaster was Sheikra at BGT, and man, he wears that shirt with pride.

thanks for the infor but how expensive is to eat at the restraunts in the parks i dont think the dining passes would work for my crazy group but im trying to work out a budget so i can be prepared and the face paintings sounds great my bunch will love that what about the twister ride is that a ride or what actually is that

what is scrip and how do i get them im seeing alot of things floating around like coupons and tickets to places but how do you actually get them without paying alot. Yes im a bargain hunter.

Twister is an experience. You go in and pretty much watch a scene from the movie. A lot of people dont like it for many reasons, mostly because of Bill Paxton. I love it, its loads of fun. Dont know what you mean by scrips. What we usually do at the resturants is get something like a big double cheeseburger and split it between the two. The burgers are pretty big, and the kids are small, and dont eat that much, plus they usually come with fries, and take your own drinks. There is a walmart not far from UO, you can stock up on stuff there. Look online, do a google search for the coupon books. Not sure what coupon book people use, but they say they can get them for like 10 bucks somewhere. When you first get to Orlando, stop at McD's, they usually have some really big coupon books there for not only parks, but rooms food and other local attractions. And when all else fails, just walk around! You're not staying on site, and I'm not saying do this.....but......you can take boats over to the three onsite hotels. They have HUGE pools and arcades. Also lots of shops to look around and window shop in. Nothing wrong with being a bargain hunter, having kids will do that to you.

the only time this might be a problem is during hhn time.
last year signs were posted, no admittance for hotel water shuffle without hotel key..........

this was in the evening and we had to show the hotel card to get on the boat.

i have never seen signs about this in the past though. have been staying on site for some years and last year was the first time it has been posted at the boat dock at city walk.
