So, we are coming down end of 7/16 in to 8/16, and were thinking about doing one day away from Disney Parks as a change up.

I have never been to Lego land, but from everything I read it is geared more towards younger kids (which means the 10 year old may be bored.

The reverse of that is that Universal is geared more towards older kids (which means the 4 year old may not get to ride anything.

The 7 year old will like both.

Do I have a better shot of the 10 year old having some fun at LEGOLAND, or the 4 year old having some fun at Universal.

I think 10 years old is a great age for Legoland. My oldest two (twins) were 11 years old when we went and they had a blast. We are going back next year mainly for DS6 and DD8 (who will be 7 and 9 when we go back) because they have consistently asked to go back and I am excited to see the areas that have been added there since we last went. However, I think there are quite a few things over at Universal that a 4 year old would enjoy too. I think for me it would be a matter of whether getting to Legoland from the Orlando area is going to be an issue (it's about a 45 minute to an hour drive) and what deals I could get on admission tickets, especially since Disney tickets cost a small fortune. The kids free ticket promotion frequently offered by Legoland made the cost of a day there more than worth it for us. Another thought to consider is that the majority of the attractions at Legoland can be done in one day if that's all the time you have for it, while Universal is a place that you may want to set aside at least a couple days for IMO. Good luck with whatever you decide :thumbsup2

Legoland. I took mine last January (see ages in signature) and only the oldest (now 15) was bored.....as far as rides, anyway. He thought the sculptures, especially Star Wars, were awesome. All three of the younger kids loved....really everything about Legoland.

We also did Universal and that went over okay with all of them, but still I think they enjoyed Legoland more.

Legoland, hands down. We did it with 10, 8, and 6 year olds in 2013 and now again with them at 12, 10, and 8. Twelve is getting old for it, but ten is definitely not.

We are heading to the World next month. This is the first time staying off property. We will have a rental car and are going drive to Legoland. Our DD is 7, and DS is 9. I think our kids will outgrow Legoland before Universal. Plus Santa brought a bunch of Lego's for Christmas. So he's totally into Legos right now....

We do both parks every year...and they are both amazing! However, if you're only taking 1 day from Disney, I would suggest you do Legoland b/c
1. You can do most of it in a single day
2. It will be cheaper as a one day event, especially if you get the discount tickets around everywhere
3. Your kids are in the sweet spot for ages to go (and you won't have many years til your older one outgrows some of the fun - although, even as an adult, I still have tons of fun, so there will always be some fun at any age there:))
4. It's a totally more laid back experience than Disney, so it's a good change up.

I'd suggest you do it on a summer weekday to keep the crowds lower...

If you wanted to totally go wild, I'd suggest you dump Disney entirely and do a Universal/Legoland vacation only...but you might not want to go too crazy until you see both parks:)...

To make the most of your Legoland trip, sign all the kids up for a LegoMindstorm class, get the Apple Fries (one order is enough to have the amazing treat, although 2 is better if you have kids who love them like mine), and see the miniature land! And ride a lot of the mild coasters (they vary between 7 Dwarves, Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain for intensity - none are more intense that Space Mountain) and let the kids drive the boats and cars (or maybe the adults drive the boats b/c they are hard!)

So you have 4 weeks vacation

Do Max 10 days of Disney ..... ! day of Legoland .. 7 days of Universal & Islands of Adventure .... 7 days of Seaworld & Bush Gardens

& a Trip to Kennedy Space Center & An Airboat Trip ( Midway at Christmas with a trip to Christmas Replica Fort )

That should satisfy All ages in your family

Legoland. No way will your 10 year old be bored. When people say it's geared towards younger kids they mean teenagers might get a little bored, mainly because the rides aren't super thrilling.
