Universal Studios/Los Angeles Question

We have never been to California before and are going in August this year. We want to stay somewhere close to Universal Studios and the Hollywood/LA Area. Anyone have any suggestions?

The Loews is Hollywood is nice but not cheap. Do you have a particular budget in mind?

No. Just something decent and nicely located.

Best Western is always good. Very short drive to Universal as well as the main tourist attractions in LA (like Walk of Fame). Traffic is just what takes time.

2 years ago, we stayed at the Sheraton at Universal, and we could walk to the park and was a short drive to Hollywood and Vine to park and enjoy a movie and some of the down town, before exploring more. Nice hotel, though we had a standard room parking lot view, but that was ok, as we only needed it a few nights. I would stay there again.
