Universal Studios Japan new coaster

Doesn't seem worth the atrocity they've commited against the park's theming.

Agreed...it looks TERRIBLE. Just imagine the outcry if Disney built plain-steel roller coaster over Main Street USA. What were they thinking?!? And all for a 90 second ride?

They were probably thinking about all the money they are going to make from people in a country where they are a little less concerned about Main Street USA than Americans are. I like it.:cool2:

you can see how it impacts the theming here.

Ok, I see what you're saying. It's definitely more intrusive than the Hulk. It just seems Universal has a bad habit of plopping down unthemed coasters. I'm just glad they tucked the Hulk and DD away a lot better than they did that coaster in japan.

Looks like a crap and boring rollercoaster to me. Ok.... the night effect looks good, but anyone can do that!

The Hulk and DD at least are made to 'fit' their respective lands. This is equivalent to Disney placing Rock'n'Roller coaster over Hollywood Blvd.

Did anyone not realize that the name of the coaster is "Hollywood Dreams?"

It fits in with the theme people. Think about it.

Also keep in mind that the Japanese tend to build upwards instead of looking for more land. They also update their park regularly, and their shows are STUNNING!

The coaster, from what I have heard is pretty great, the crowds love it and they keep coming.

It makes perfect sense. Last time I checked Rockin roller coaster was themed as a music studio in hollywood. I fail to see how that wouldn't belong over Hollywood blvd.

There are clearly examples of questionable themeing at Disney world, monsters inc for example, but rockin roller coaster isn't one of them.

I think what they mean is that if RnRc wasn't put where it is now but put outdoors over Hollywood Blvd.

I'd have to agree though that it is a bad place to put it in most cases, however it's also well known that how little extra land is available in Japan. This may have been their only option for adding a big coaster.

...still cant say I like it though.

Yes, thank you. Although I might possibly question the placement of RnRC on a 1940s Hollywood themed street (Sunset) beside ToT (I think the entrance should have come from Mickey Ave), at least I can live with it. If the cars shot up and around ABOVE Hollywood Blvd though, I would hate it. I don't want to see "Missouri Mountain" steel coaster zooming around Main Street, "Expedition Rainforest" flying above the Oasis, or a Hollywood coaster high above Hollywood Blvd.
