Hi first time to universal Hollywood and i am looking for accommodation to stay near universal and would love any recommendations and what you thought of the rooms.
thanks guys.

We enjoyed the Hilton much more than the other onsite hotel, the Sheraton or is it Marriott. The hotels are a little bit older, hopefully they've been updated since the last time we were there. They both had a shuttle, actually the same shuttle goes to both hotels.

I know there are other hotels but I don't remember if they had a shuttle. We enjoyed having the shuttle.

We stayed at the Universal Sheraton in June of this year. I absolutely loved it and would stay there again. It has been updated, the rooms were small, but it worked for us. We had a view of the Universal backlot and NBC Studios. We were within walking distance of Universal. Hope you have a great time and good luck with your search! :goodvibes

Thanks pdowning98, we've booked to stay at that hotel April next year, nice to hear some positive feed back.

The Beverly Garland is a mile away and very nice.

An easy trip in the subway will get you to the more expensive
Renaissance Hollywood. Right on the Walk of Fame, it has great
rooms.

Also expensive is the Roosevelt across the street. Old Hollywood
but nicely renovated. Great rooms.

which hotel is most appropriate for kids? I have a 12, 10 and 6. Beverly Garland has bunk bed rooms but it seems a little out of the way. The renaissance looks like it is in the best location but I'm wondering if it is too stuffy and not kid friendly. They are all 150-200 per night.
