We just spent a day at Universal last week. I was glad we waited to visit until our kids were older (16 and 12). I was actually a little surprised at the lack of thing for younger kids to do. If your toddler likes to play in the water, there's a great Curious George water play area. With a child that young, you will probably want to be right behind him which means you will get wet too! We saw lots of kids stripping down to bathing suits so their parents had obviously planned for them to play there. Your would not be tall enough for any of the three rides (Simpsons, Jurassic Park and Mummy), although the teens will most likely love those. Also, you would not be able to ride any of those being six months pregnant. The Studio Tour is great for older kids, but a younger one might be scared. It's mostly driving around and looking at movie sets, but the King Kong 3-D tunnel is right in the middle of the tour, so there's no way to skip it. It's pretty intense and I wouldn't want to take a small child on it, unless he loves watching dinosaurs fight with a big gorilla!
There are a few cute things you can walk around and look at with him. Shrek and Fiona stand on a little platform near the Shrek 3-D movie and greet guests. There's also a little wagon that opens up called Donkey's Waffles. An animatronic Donkey (from Shrek) says funny things to the passers-by. You can't actually buy waffles there, you just watch Donkey be silly. EB, the Easter Bunny from Hop, still appears. We saw him walking around, but there's also an area where he sits with a drum set sometimes. On the lower lot (where Jurassic Park and the Mummy rides are), some characters from Scooby Doo drive around in the Mystery Machine and then get out for pictures. This is a scheduled event that you should be able to find on the park schedule. It happens every hour or so. The Simpsons greet guests in the area near their ride as well.
In terms of food, we ate at the Jurassic Cafe on the lower lot. It had chicken nuggets, burgers, chicken sandwiches, Pizza Hut pizza and Panda Express Chinese food. They also had side salads and desserts. We all found something to eat there and there were several large seating areas, inside and outside.
We didn't notice whether there was a baby care station, but you can probably find out about that on the website. Hope this info. helps!
