Universal Studios Hollywood Touring Plan (1 or 1.5 day)

I was originally planning to spend a full day and a half day at USH before our 3 day DL trip. However, due to DL cancelling WoC on the days we are there, I am thinking about spending our Day 1 at DL instead leaving us with only 1 full day at USH.

Can we do just 1 day at USH? It would be a Tuesday, 1/17 and park opens 10-5pm which would give us about 6 hours (I removed lunch/snack time) to do everything.

We have 3 kids, so I didn't want to be aggressive on our schedule thus the .5 day before.

The other alternative is to spend part of the afternoon at USH then drive to DL around 7pm to catch either the 8pm or 9:15 WoC or the 8:40 Fireworks, then drive back. Is that drive worth it?

How old are your kids? Not only will you not need a day and a half, but you might not even need one full day. I most definitely would NOT drive back and forth between DL and USH more than the one necessary time. Depending on time of day that can easily be a two hour drive!

With those aged kids I would do Universal for no more than a day and possibly skip it and go to Legoland instead.

Oh I just saw the ages in the siggie. Yeah that's young. They likely won't be able to do much at that age. I'd probably skip it altogether.

Hmmm... I purposely skipped Legoland, because we have one here in Chicago (not a full themepark), but a Discovery Center.

We went to Florida in 2010, but missed US because of rains, so we only did IoA. More than the tours, I really am just probably doing character photo ops, i.e., Curious George, Shrek, SpongeBob, etc.

If the 1 visit from 10am-5pm will suffice, I will probably just spend our first day (the whole afternoon) in DL.
