Hi All

I have a trip planned to Universal - Spain this summer and wondered if anyone knows if there is a board for this theme park. Having been to Universal Florida last October we (DH and 2 DD's) need a theme park fix even though we aren't heading across the water so thought we would check out Port Aventura.

My sister and her family have been to both Spain and Florida and said Spain is very good and has some plus points over Florida.

Has anyone been to Port Aventura - what did you think of it? any tips?

Welshlady.

I haven't been myself but have many clients, like you, who have used it for a short theme park fix, nothing but good reports, don't underestimate the sun though if you're going in the height of summer. I don't think theres an official board but I know Keithprowseattraction tickets website will give you basic info

We went to Port Adventura a couple of years ago and had a fantastic holiday - we stayed in one of the Universal Hotels - there were 2 then Port Adventura and El Paso (where we stayed). We booked through Lunn Poly and they sold us 7 day tickets for the park with free tickets to the Water Park - but on arrival at the hotel we discovered that you got free length of stay passes for staying onsite the reps weren't very helpful and it was weeks after we returned and only after threatening them with the small claims court that we finally had the money back for the tickets - the really annoying thing was that the TA that sold us the tickets had stayed at the hotel herself!!!! It can get very hot and we had a couple of storms but not as bad as those in Florida in the Summer, but unfortunatly unlike the US they don't have many places that are air conditioned - we are planning on taking our youngest DS there this Oct whilst his brother is away on a swimming course in Spain!

It's stunning - you also have the Costa Caribe water park which is good. The park is beatiful in layout and for coaster thrills (that I love) it has two stunners in Stampida and Dragon Khan (hint - do not do this if it rains - it is like getting hit in the face with golfballs!!).

I can highly recommend it - we went for two nights at El Paso and booked through their main site directly for hotel and tickets - worked out quite reasonable. We did it as part of visiting Barca and it is only about an hour about by regular train which stops at the resort.

Hope you enjoy it if you go!

Many thanks for your replies. We are definitely going. We are staying in Cap Salou for 2 weeks and Port Aventura and water park will be just up our street after Florida last year.

Cheers

Debbie
