Just wondering, and I know you wouldn't get free passes or discounts here, but if you wanted to on your day off, would there be anything stopping you from going to Universal or Sea World? I haven't been there in years, and wouldn't mind going again. And about how far is it, if anyone has been? I'm assuming you'd have to take a taxi, just wondering what a ballpark figure for that would be?

I love Universal Studios and Sea World!

Sea World is under 5 miles (about 9 minutes) from my old address at Chatham. I drove by it sometimes. :)

Universal Studios is a bit farther away, a little under 10 miles (about 17 minutes) from Chatham.

I am not sure what the taxi fare would be. There is also a Lynx bus that you can take from the TTC to Sea World. I looked at the bus schedule a few times, and I think you would save more time by taking a taxi. Plus, if you are going with a friend, you can split the taxi fare.

There is also a Lynx bus that goes to Universal Studios, but I don't know where the closest stops are near CP housing. So again, I would think taking a taxi would be the most time-efficient way to go. :)

i live in florida...so i go to universal all the time! :) it is amazing! islands of adventure is so awesome! it rocks! umm and the studios is equally awesome! they have the mummy the ride....omg i pooped myself the first time i rode that! it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun! :)

Wow, I guess you're right. The price is like, 60 dollars for a day and only 130 for a seasons pass. Seems silly to even think about paying for a day, doesn't it!

Taxi fares are outrageous here, I certainly wouldnt recommend it. Sea World is very close by and you could probably have a friend drop you off and pick you up if you had no car. Universal , as stated, as a tad bit further, but its not far really. If I were you I would make friends with someone with a car if you wanted to go.

Invest in season passes when you get here as well if you plan on going more than once. Both of our season passes for Universal and Busch Gardens / Sea World have paid for themselves pretty quick.

Actually Sea World is running a promotion (they do every year!)

Florida’s best entertainment value is back! Pay for a day, and come back all year to enjoy all the sights and splashes of SeaWorld Orlando with a 2008 SeaWorld Fun Card. Enjoy unlimited general admission through December 31, 2008 for only $67.95 for adults and $57.95 for children ages 3-9. How much fun can you have for the price of one day? Find out! Add Busch Gardens or Adventure Island to your SeaWorld Fun Card and double your fun.

I like the Fun Card promotion! I got a Sea World Fun Card last year. The only downside is that it does not include the parking fee. The Passport (annual pass) OTOH includes the price of parking plus some discounts.

Wow, that's insane! Now I just have to wait the other week to find out if I've been accepted and then I'm ordering this stuff! I'm so excited, I live so far away from all of this stuff that the thought of living in the center of all of it for six months is like mind boggling. We don't have anything fun up here in northern new york, not even a mini-golf course

So this is going to sound like the stupidest question ever, but, are there a lot of fish at SeaWorld? I'm scared of fish, but I like all sorts of other marine creatures, like whales and seals and especially otters. Just no fish. I'm slightly better with pretty fish than ugly fish, so like Finding Nemo fish aren't too bad. I'd like to go to SeaWorld because I've never been there, but if there's lots of fish then it might not be a really good choice.

They have a lot of rides, there are whales and manatees and dolphins and otters and seals. There are fish lol. There are also penguins, turtles, sting rays, sharks and all sorts of stuff. I like going and watching the penguins.
