Universal raises ticket prices

Hmmm...was a one day pass $65 before today?

In the article it says:

*A seven-day, three-park, unlimited-admission pass, good for Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Wet 'N Wild, now costs $99.99, a $5 increase.

But...it's still popping up at $94.99 on my computer.

you knew this was going to happen.

it was "when" it would happen was the question.

thanks for the heads up metro

I bought a Preferred Annual Pass last night knowing ticket prices were going up today. I don't think AP prices went up though.

Is this a good deal? $199 + tax. I also received 6 months free for a total of 18 months.

Yes...it's a good deal. :thumbsup2

the annual prices had their rate raised back in march.
don't know about any future change.

the article that metro linked us to made a statement on the ap w/ 6 months extra good for the month of august....unless i read that wrong.

I'm with you on this one, Metro... it was $71 a day. Also, sure the 7 day passed increased by $15- $20 (above the promotional value they've been offering in recent months) but they're adding wet n' wild... not that I'd really use that option. I still think it's a great deal!

I think the one day passes were $71.00 before today.

It was $69 on my puter this morning. Now it's $73.

When I posted this morning the prices were $69, $79 and $94.99

Now the prices are as follows: $73, $83.99 and $99.99.

Incidentally, the AAA prices for my region are:

1day/1park-$69
1day/2park-$74.99
7day unlimited (no W&W)-$79.99

The best deal I've seen is at Costco- Unlimited visits 2 parks for 6 months $56.00.

I'm thinking the website doesn't show the gate price which is what the $71.00 rate was I believe. The website used to show the gate and internet pricing but doesn't anymore.

Ahaaaa, that must be it. Either way, you called it.

I read, on another thread here, that you can purchase them w/out being a member but they charge a 5% surcharge. I do not see the Unlimited visits 2 parks for 6 months $56.00 option that was posted above. The 7 day 2 park ticket that is so popular now is listed as $92.99 but, not being a member you end up paying $108.84!

Here's the breakdown:

Description:
92.99 after $17 OFF
Adult 3-Park
Unlimited Ticket Item # 298176

Subtotal $109.99
Shipping & Handling: $10.35
Non-Member Surcharge: $5.50
Less Coupon(s): ($17.00)
Order Total: $108.84

Not such a great deal after all. I suppose, if you are a Costco member and can pick these up in person, it'd be okay. As it is above, you can get them cheaper directly through UO.

Here's that breakdown:

Subtotal: $99.99
Taxes and Fees: $8.50
Shipping: $0.00 (selected electronic pickup)
Order Total: $108.49

Ok, I know I missed the days to purchase these cheaper, but my question is We are not coming down till June/July next year and I wanted to buy our passes say for Christmas can I buy them that far in advance and get them to use for Christmas presents. I have never done Universal in Orlando and we want to add them and Sea World to our Disney trip this time.

Yes, you can save them. They don't expire until after you activate them by using them. When you first use the ticket, you then have 7 consecutive days before they expire.

Do you have to be a member at Costco to buy these tickets?

Yes, you do have a member to purchase the passes at that price, and I've only seen them in the store (by the books and stuff.) I have never looked online for them, so I don't know what their availability is there.

If it helps anybody, I just ordered my 7 day tickets at AAA online for $85 each (no tax). There was a $5.95 certified mailing charge for the entire order (not per ticket).

I just did the same thing. By the time I got the tickets for 15.00 apiece cheaper and saved the $30+ they wanted for tax, it actually saved me money to become an AAA member and buy the tix. I was like saving a few bucks and getting the membership for free.
